You can't reinvent the burger; you can remake it NEW YORK (AP) When Wendy's decided to remake its 42-year-old hamburger, the chain agonized over every detail. A pickle chemist was consulted. Customers were quizzed on their lettuce knowledge. And executives went on a cross-country burger-eating tour. [snip]
Wendy’s has the worst burgers on the planet. In N Out..Whataburger are much much better. In the Midwest..Culvers or Steak n Shake.
Increasing it to more than 20lb? I wonder how much they pay per ream?
But they give “it” a “name”, and talk about no longer having mustard - who doesn’t allow mustard on a burger? A “Name” like that usually implies 1 particular item. Do we now have to say, “I want a double Hot&Juicy..”? What’s the point of naming it if it’s not just another item on the menu?
I like flat burgers. They cook thoroughly and minimize all the disgusting gristly-ball cartilage that inherently is part of burgers and why, except for FF, I’m not a big fan of them.
Their onions are the best.
I worked at Wendy’s back in my post high school years and I LOVED the food. I knew it was made well and that the chili was just yesterdays over cooked meat mashed up and given spices.
I would eat 2 jr bacons every day if I knew it wouldn’t make me die at 40.... Mmmmmmm Bacon.
What if you don’t like tomatoes and onions (red is horrid for breath - I won’t kiss my husband when he’s had sandwiches with reds for a day)? What do you do to protect the lettuce?
The only flavor “healthy” lettuce has is bitterness. :-)
Thanks for that. I have to go to Cincinnati on Friday, so I’ll try the one in Blue Ash.
I worked at the 1 I mentioned above, too. My 1st job at 17 way back, still in school. Only lasted 2 months - hated how they always changed schedules and didn’t seem to consider much that you’re in school; moved to a brand-new theater instead. Also learned it’s not too fun working with food! But generally I had no real problems with what they did there.
We use to have a place in town that did that and buttered it.
They had a toaster/butter conveyer belt thing that was awesome!
Endless Hand cut fries, Pinto beans with jalapeno, and cornbread.
They had amazing foot tall coconut cream pies.
The place burnt to the ground :(
I think Culver’s Butter burger still toasts the bun, but then they get it sopping with butter
I swear I am addicted to whataburger.
I haven’t tried Steak and shake.
I agree on the others.
Their spicy chicken sandwich and chili are awesome.
Steak and Shake is good, but don’t go through the drive-thru unless you have 20 minutes to spare...and that’s if you’re the only car.
If its just one more item on the menu it will flop.
They need to add that level of detail to the entire menu to set themselves apart.
I love threads about fast food... direct assault on FLOTUS’ food police!
We all know what the Chili is, but I love it.
NOBODY else does that.
Burgers changed after the E. Coli outbreak in So Cal. It started at several Jack-n-the-box’s and resulted in a few deaths. Think that was around 1979-80. Ever since then the major fast food places overcook them.
I love onions!
