In a speech to a Republican group in St. Petersburg Saturday, Anita Perry, wife of GOP presidential frontrunner Rick Perry, defended her husband's stance on Social Security – an area where Mitt Romney has accused him of backing off controversial former comments.

"He does not back down in the face of criticism. He rejects weathervane politics … When he stakes his ground, he holds it," including on Social Security, she said.

"I've known him since I was 6 years old," Anita Perry said.

"He has not backed down an inch from saying Social Security's financing is broken. It must be reformed," she said.

When someone talks about his religion, we hope he is sincere. But politicians may try to do it just to get the religious vote.
When someone says Social Security is a fraud, you KNOW he has real principles and isn’t trying to pander to anyone.

????

Are you confusing me with an old poster “Clarity” — I am “Clairity” with an additional i. I assure you that I am not the “old Clarity” — the only reason I know about him, because others were asking before.

doesn’t she have to actually run first? I mean, people have anointed her president, and she hasn’t even annouced her candidacy.

in fact, she hasn’t REALLY even expressed that much interest in the job.

the sarahbots are flirting with paulbot territory.

“Were it not for the fact that Todd Palin will be the First Gentleman.”

You got to be in it to win it.

“the sarahbots are flirting with paulbot territory.”

Either that or they have some insider information. But I am very skeptical.

Rick and Anita do know how its done and their campaign will make its mark early. This is a splendid, early and firm grasp of the stage and the momentum. Anita is tough and can cover some ground in her own right. Talk about some REAL jobs, she fills the bill. And as a family team, well, their is no disfunction anywhere in sight. They are all proven people in their own right with plenty of can-do, have-done, and a nice sweaty upbringing. Now it’s coming together and starting to show. Wrap it up, Rick.

What a great step to show he is absolutely not going to step down from his stand on this issue! Anita seems like a very wonderful spouse, and their childhood-to present-day story of love and commitment is simply awesome.

I agree with some of the other posters. If there was any dirt on Perry, the TX Democrats would have found it sometime during the past 3 election cycles. Nothing to find.
