Reporting from Costa Mesa Michele Bachmann, struggling to regain her footing in the GOP presidential contest, Friday assailed rival Rick Perry, saying he abused his power as governor of Texas and rewarded political donors in a manner similar to President Obama.

She compared it to the federal controversy unfolding around Solyndra, a solar equipment maker that received a $535-million federal loan guarantee and which went bankrupt last month. Republicans have suggested that the guarantee was pushed by the White House to reward a major campaign donor with ties to Solyndra's biggest shareholder, a charge the Obama administration denies.
Bachmann also sought to tie Perry's effort, which was ultimately blocked by the Texas Legislature, to Obama's healthcare law in a Web video and fundraising appeal to supporters in which she dubs his efforts as "Perrycare," a riff on the "Obamacare" label that some use to describe the president's healthcare reform package.

Bachmann received credit for calling Perry out on the matter during a debate Monday night, but she quickly stumbled by claiming that the vaccine was dangerous and could cause "mental retardation." According to the CDC and physicians, even among people who have the most severe reactions, the vaccine does not cause cognitive disability.
Bachmann repeatedly refused to walk back on her remarks, saying she had heard from a mother whose daughter experienced such a reaction.

She also is unstable. Get out Michele you’ve made a total ass out of yourself.
It appears to me that Michelle Bachmann tried to hang this Guardisil stone around Perry’s neck, but succeeded in hanging it around her own neck.
Seems like all she’s asked about now is this issue, whereas Perry looks to be in the clear.
Don’t know what else to say other than wow...
I do support the “all of the above” position on energy. Anything that’s viable should be used, and research should continue on those things that show real promise of viability.
It may be far into the future, but there will come a day when solar, wind, etc., will be important.
I do support research of future possibilities; I don’t support forced government subsidizing of manufacturing and marketing of any kind of research that isn’t ready for prime time; i.e., that can’t pay for itself. That’s just insane.
You mean the HelioVolt jobs jobs that don’t exist.
You clowns have all the courage of Obama voters and half the brains.
Bachmann needs to stop digging.
She’s digging herself out of serious contention for the GOP nomination.
She needs to choose her battles. This is not one that is going to help her.
What’s Perry’s excuse?
Minor shi!. Well, lets see, who's left? Find anyone that is totally clean and have no skeletons in their closet? Or what seems right at the time, now distorted, becomes a death blow. How juvenile.
This chick needs to STFU. What a screwball.
AAABEST has the CDC. You have an article from the Washington Examiner?
Really?
Perry may be Blago of the South, but he’s your Texans’ Blago of the South, eh?
(In case you haven’t noticed, Obama’s getting lit up with crony capitalism charges, such that having a crony capitalist challenger is as much an unforced error on the part of the GOP as having proto-Obamacare’s sponsor be our candidate.)
If someone can manufacture solar panels cheap enough, light enough and small enough people will start buying them by the truckload. I know I would. It’s just not viable yet.
“Whats Perrys excuse?”
For making Michele lie? None that I can see.
I seem to recall that it actually caused several deaths or do I have this confused with something else?
I agree. She’s a very poor messenger.
Tell me that Perry isn’t a RINO.
Is Bachmann becoming a a shrieking shrew?
My gosh, I can hardly stand listening to her any longer.

Michelle would do herself a lot of good to just drop this issue and move on, but then again some people just keep digging even when they have hit rock bottom...
I agree. I did major remodeling of my property this year, and one consideration was solar. But, after looking into it and crunching the numbers, it simply didn’t make financial sense. I would have put the money to it, but the best case scenario was having it provide about half of my electrical needs. The solar people of course want you to “change your lifestyle” and learn to live on less.
I don’t want to change my lifestyle. I want my lifestyle and I want my energy source to provide for it.
I have supported Michele ever since she started talking about running, but she is this[—]close to jumping the shark on the Gardasil deal.
It does...and did....need addressing, but she’s become shrill and it’s out of character for her. I hope she’ll move on and just do what she does best...take down Zero on his policies that are ruining America.
She’s smart and informed and this doesn’t make her look good at all!
Gardisil did not stick when Kay Bailey Hutchinson tried that technique. So it is doubtful it will work this time.
Doing the same thing and expecting different results is the definition of insanity.
Bachmann needs to give it up and focus on her many other talents.
