Former President Jimmy Carter wants to see Mitt Romney win the Republican nomination and run against President Obama next November.
"I hope he wins," Carter said of the former Massachusetts governor in a Thursday night interview with MSNBC. "I'm not taking a position, but I would be very pleased to see him win the Republican nomination."

Thank you Jimmy.
I have a list of other candidates I'd like you to endorse.

I have a strict rule that if Obama, Kennedy (deceased), Reid, Pelosi, Carter, or any other RAT is FOR something, I am DEFINITELY against it!!!
To: GoldenPup
I dunno, considering Jimmy`s political abilities, this is the first time I`ve ever thought Mitt might have a chance to win. :)

Kiss of death. I wouldn't want that senile communist to mention my name much less endorse me.

I think you are on to something there. Carter would be pulling for the weakest Republican to get nominated by the GOP. Carter must feel Perry is the stronger GOP candidate.

Carter, a Democrat, added that he thinks Romney would lose in a match up against Obama, and that he supports the president's re-election.He isn't endorsing Romney as the excepted portion suggests. He just thinks he would be the easiest candidate for ObaMao to beat.
He thought the same thing about Ronald Reagan. He may just be trying to put the Reagan mantle on Mittens.
So the cagey little bast*rd is just playing with our heads here. Ignore him.

(so Perry's purchase price starts at $5001.00: and $29,000 , was a sell.)
To: Baladas
Wow! Romney would never have solicited Carter's support. What a major turnoff for those considering Romney!

I count LBJ up there in the worst President column.
Obama is far and away the worst, but LBJ got us the so called Great Society while killing 56,000 good American military running a war from the White House.
My vote is Obama #1 worse, LBJ #2, and jimmy yum yum #3.

This is not an endorsement Mitt is pleased to receive.
Next we will see Obama endorsing Mitt.
To: Baladas
Has to give one pause. Carter knows that his endorsement is anathema to conservatives and that it will only help Perry. That’s the only reason to say something at this stage. Looks like they’re trying to deep-six who they perceive as the strongest general election challenger to Obama while they can - Romney.
