America is still fighting over President Obama's costly bailout of Chrysler and General Motors. Especially the owners of Ford, the only member of Detroit's "Big Three" who rejected the government dole and emerged perfectly healthy.
[Check out our editorial cartoons on President Obama.]
In its most political ad in the so-called "Drive One" ads where real drivers are thrust before cameras to explain why they picked Ford, a real Ford F-150 pick-up driver is featured.

They should have been marketing this for months.
That’s going to leave a mark...
Lol. Good one.
Excellent move by Ford.
Their rejection of bailout money IS a big selling point for Ford. And with Obama’s popularity in the tank, it is a relatively risk-free move.
Proud Ford owner
LOL
I wonder how long it will be before many companies like banks start using this for marketing purposes? Not on the taxpayers dime—never was, never will be.
I would say they waited until they were fairly sure obama wasn’t going to get re-elected.
If it doesn't air on TV I will send it around through my e-mail list. 100% agreement with his sentiments!
Ford to Government Motors: Screw you.
I just reported the commercial to attackwatch.
It is an excellent move by Ford. The bailouts were very unpopular, and Ford did well.
I own two Escapes and am thinking of buying an Edge. I’m very happy with the Escapes.
“I would say they waited until they were fairly sure obama wasnt going to get re-elected.”
They may now expect raids on the corporate offices and the IRS breathing down their necks since it is presently a hussein/holder reign.
More interesting, when I tried to see the advertised ten reasons Sara Palin would make a good president the link took me to a brief introductory paragraph and "related" ten reasons why she'd be a bad president.
Nothing on the good part - ?!
Now GM will get a waiver from the new CAFE standards and Ford will not for mocking Dear Leader.
You forget that Bush was going to veto but then Obama went to Bush and pleaded with him to approve it so that Obama could deal with it on his watch.
Both Bush and Obama agree that it was done as a favor to Obama. It’s the Obama bailouts.
Actually, it looks like Ford will still pass the new CAFE standards. Barely, but they will.
Heck, Ford has a really fuel efficient turbo V6 available in their trucks that makes more power than the base V8 available in the Government Motors competition.
There was no threat of veto. Bush used TARP money to bailout the auto companies. He did it, his fault. Enough with the protect Bush actions on here.
Good for Ford! They might expect some Obama/union retaliation.
I will never ever consider a GM or Chrysler in their present state.
I’ve got problems with Bush myself, but all parties actually agreed on this one. Bush WAS going to veto the use of TARP funds to bail them out.
Bush WAS at fault for TARP in the first place, but it was Obama demanding/pleading for it that got the automakers their funds. In addition, the ‘orchestrated pseudobankruptcies’ and government takeovers were on Obama’s watch.
