Add Michele Bachmann's former campaign manager to those who believe the presidential candidate went too far in linking a cervical cancer vaccine to mental retardation.
Ed Rollins, in an interview Wednesday evening on MSNBC, said Bachmanns attacks on Texas Gov. Rick Perrys mandatory vaccination program for young girls in Texas had been effective -- until she brought up the possibility of dangerous side effects in television interviews.
Shed had been better if she stayed on issue, Rollins told Chris Matthews on Hardball, the issue was the governors executive orders, and whether he made a mistake. He made a mistake, she made a mistake; the quicker she admits she made a mistake, the better.
There is no proven scientific evidence to support the claim that Bachmann repeated on Fox News and NBC -- and her remarks earned her the scorn of conservative pundits such as Rush Limbaugh. On Wednesday, former presidential candidate Mike Huckabee weighed on his radio show, saying
She landed some hard blows on Perry over his aborted cervical cancer vaccine program in Texas. But she went a little too far afterward in saying that a woman told her that her daughter developed mental retardation after getting that vaccine. That raised a howl of protest from doctors who've been piling up stacks of research showing no links between vaccinations and serious brain problems
In trying to explain her actions, Bachmann told Fox News Sean Hannity: I am not a doctor. I am not a scientist. I am not a physician. All I was doing was reporting what this woman was reporting last night at the debate.
The American Academy of Pediatrics said there is "absolutely no scientific validity" to the claim that the HPV vaccine is dangerous and can cause mental retardation.

>>My grandmother who died in 1988 at age one hundred was once removed as a potential juror when she told the court she thought women should not vote and should not sit on juries. She was not kidding, being cute or trying just to get off a jury. I still laugh. She was an interesting glimpse into another time.
<<
I think there is a lot of wisdom in that. Seriously.
And I personally know a few conservative Christian women who have said the same. Flame away.
There was no need for Mrs. Bachmann to be over-apologetic. She could have simply clarified that she wants the risks to be understood and that from what the scientists themselves say she does not believe it appropriate to put the weight of the state behind Gardasil. One doesn’t need to be a doctor to understand, say, that a smoking or hard drinking habit is a bad idea.
My mom (who was a professional woman up till retirement) said that most of the drama started when women were allowed in the workplace.
I think that’s undeniable.
>>Dont think you are going to inspire any freepers to go along with that stupid remark, you liberal troll.<<
Let me guess. You are a woman.
I’d agree with this - I really think some woman actually did make that claim to Bachmann but some people will say anything and she should’ve checked the story out first.
” I think her real mistake was ever having Ed Rollins to do anything with her campaign. He sucks.”
When running or playing a key role in political campaigns if I had missgivings of a candidate that I felt was fraudulent or held “strange views” I would not be associated with it in the first place.
I never believed in turning on my candidates simply because they ignored or refused my advice even if they owed me money .
But I would make certain after that candidate lost because of ignoring that advice everyone and their kin would know I disagreed with the decision and had no part in it.

.
Let me guess. You think all conservatives are stupid mysogynistic woman-haters, and all you have to do is make a stupid remark like that, and soon every mysogynistic conservative will be revealing themselves as the troglodytes they are by chiming in “yeah, that guy is right!, no lady leaders! Down with all the conservative women in our party!”
Idiot.
“Dont think you are going to inspire any freepers to go along with that stupid remark, you liberal troll.”
I’m not too interested in “inspiring” anyone, just in the truth. Also, how in the heck do you tag me as being a liberal with what I wrote? This has got to be one of the more retarded replies I’ve seen in a while.
Golda Meir? Margaret Thatcher?
Two words: Margaret Thatcher
“Perry said he only got $5,000.00 from Merk. He lied, that year he got over $30,000.00 dollars from them.”
Oh I would just love to see your source on that.

Calm down, doll. You are letting your emotions get the better of you. LOL

I merely asked if you were a woman. The answer is obvious. ;-)
Is that you Obama? Yeaahhh..all them woomans be dumb "stinky fish". And that goes for yo typical mamma too.
Ask and you shall recieve.
thank you
Found some interesting info here; http://minx.cc/?post=321339
Merck donated $5000 to Perry for his 2010 election, long after he’d dropped the “mandate.” So the amount donated prior to this was $23,500.
It is not clear why they continued making their Crony Capitalism payments to him after he dropped support of Gardasil like a hot potato.
I merely postulated that you were a liberal posing as a conservative making insulting remarks about conservative women, in order to see if the conservatives on this forum would fall for your ruse and agree with your made-up fantasy about the conservative mind-set.
It is obvious that you are a liberal woman.
>>It is obvious that you are a liberal woman.<<
Nope. Thanks for proving to everyone you don’t have a clue what you’re talking about. ;-)
