Famous forecaster Gerald Celente of Trends Research says the world's in the midst of another depression and that we're headed for another crash. Celente won't get specific about what he means by "crash," at least with respect to the stock market, but he's convinced that the world is going to the dogs. We'll have riots, he says. And wars. And society as we know it will continue to break down.

Ammo will be worth more than gold WTSHTF. Even spending $25 every pay day on a 100-round brick of 12 gauge birdshot at Wal-Mart, or $20 on a 550-round box of .22LR will pay off exponentially...as barter material, being able to put food on the table and for defense against two-legged predators.
Of course, it's also a good idea to have at least 500 rounds for every weapon in your arsenal, and 1000 rounds for your workhorse rifles. That way, when those with the "I have a gun, so I can get all the food, gold and ammo I want from my neighbors" attitude can become carrion for the vultures in your driveway.

Do you store the dry milk using oxygen absorbers, by chance? Just curious.

When I worked as a guest at the LDS cannery they do, so when I put up more on my own I did as well.

I found a method and app recently that allows you to keep viewable documents on your ipod/iphone/itouch.
It’s called “MightyDocs”. What you do is you upload the documents, like Kartographer’s preparedness manual, to docs.google.com and sync mightydocs to your google docs account.
(Yes, I DO have the means to recharge my device from solar.)

If it’s in a #10 can from a manufacturer, no need to do anything else to it but put it on a cool, dry, dark shelf.

How do you keep buying gold if you never started buying gold?
Anybody got a simple answer?
Start now, stop worrying about the price. Invest a regular amount of dollars regularly, and don’t worry.

Yes, buy Gold and see Obama pass a law like old FDR and have all the gold seized at a low priceor face prison. They did it once and they can do it again. Unlike gunsgold isnt in the Constitution. The more gold you buy. more will be seized and sent to China to pay our debts. Buy all you like to support the USSRA and Obamas fat cat supporters. When they come for your gold I will be munching popcorn and watching.
Gold is a drop in the bucket, no one will comply, and your “popcorn” schadenfreude suggests you have financial resentment and insecurity issues.

I agree that ammo is a fine way to save your wealth in the form of useful barterable tangibles.
But your statement is economically meaningless. “Worth more”? Per unit weight? (You’re dreaming).

I never said anything about which is more valuable economically. Ammo will save your life WTSHTF, whether by putting food on your table, or by protecting you from two-legged vermin and predators. And yes, it will be valuable barter material as well. I'm not dreaming, so take your condescension elsewhere.

It’s funny.
I’ve listened to Celente numerous times on George Noory’s “Coast to Coast” (formerly Art Bell’s program)
He’s always stating clearly the sky is falling.
Listened to him on Alex Jones’ show a couple weeks ago.
The dude sounded like a longshoreman. What a vocabulary!
I’m not sure I trust someone who is so capable of switching between completely different versions of the very same English language, so comfortably.
Just saying...
