Famous forecaster Gerald Celente of Trends Research says the world's in the midst of another depression and that we're headed for another crash. Celente won't get specific about what he means by "crash," at least with respect to the stock market, but he's convinced that the world is going to the dogs. We'll have riots, he says. And wars. And society as we know it will continue to break down.

Just one question:
How do you keep buying gold if you never started buying gold?
Anybody got a simple answer?
(actually, I do have a gold pan somewhere and a small dredge...)
One simple answer is, he’s not talking to you personally but to the general public, of which you are a member. The general public has been buying at least some gold, and should continue doing so. It would be acceptable under this interpretation for you to begin buying gold, even though that would appear to contradict his instructions to “keep” buying gold.
Commodities will get hammered, with gold and silver taking a little longer to go down due to their emotional apron strings.
Under those circumstances, there are more important things to buy that would assure one's survival.
Forget buying Gold. Stock up on canned goods. If there is a meltdown a can of food will be worth its’ weight in gold. Or, stock up on lead and brass. You can use it to get all the gold you want.
Start where you are.

It should be clear to all that the world’s economy is on life support and the doctors are all ‘quacks’! Sooner or latter are the spinning plates are going to start to tumble and there is going to be on hell of a mess!
What kind of a mess you ask, well I think that we are in for something like the collapse of Argentina ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yerKMQc7-w&feature=grec_index )but on a global scale. Additionally I think we will see a much more violent version. As recent events show (Flash Mobs, UK riots, etc)we have a larger entitlement minded population and a the US has a much more violent and armed population than Argentina. I see many many small business wiped out by flash mob looting, and see rape, robbery and murder for murder sake. Many of these ‘yutes’ will think no more about killing you than most people think about stepping on a roach. That will be the test of many. Most preppers I know are Christian people and they will hesitate to do what they might have to do to stop the ‘yutes’. On the other hand the ‘yutes’ won’t think twice nor lose a minute of sleep, in fact they will smile and laugh about it.

For those of you who haven’t started already it’s time to prepare almost past time maybe. You needed to be stocking up on food guns, ammo, basic household supplies like soap, papergoods, cleaning supplies, good sturdy clothes including extra socks, underwear and extra shoes and boots, a extra couple changes of oil and filters for your car, tools, things you buy everyday start buying two and put one up.
As the LDS say “When the emergency is upon us the time for preparedness has past.”

Yes, buy Gold and see Obama pass a law like old FDR and have all the gold seized at a low price—or face prison. They did it once and they can do it again. Unlike guns—gold isn’t in the Constitution. The more gold you buy. more will be seized and sent to China to pay our debts. Buy all you like to support the USSRA and Obama’s fat cat supporters. When they come for your gold I will be munching popcorn and watching.
Sorry, the govt will not come for your gold. If they do, the financial system is so far collapsed that it really won’t matter. Probably isn’t enough physical gold in the United States held by private investors to make that much of a difference.
FDR did not confiscate gold jewelry. Neither will Zer0 or he’ll have all the gangsta brothas and his wealthy backers at his throat.
You take your bullion or coins and have them made into chains. “Spend” them a link at a time. (by weight)
This was how the Spanish and Portugese got gold and silver out of the New World without it reverting to the Crown which had coins and bars minted before transport back to Europe. That’s why those outrageously long chains of PMs are found at old wreck sites.
Besides,, That was then, this is now. Unless he can orchestrate a worldwide turn in of Gold, it’s meaningless. It can be EASILY sold outside the USA.
And jewelry wasn’t collected. How about that collection of one ounce gold medallion necklaces! (they are great accessories for a trip to Canada or Europe ya know)
Also,,, most people will remember that FDR nearly DOUBLED the price of gold immediately after the call in.
This ain’t the 1930s. People are wise to their scams more than ever,,and mass communications have exploded.

Look into buying bullion coins and bars-
sold in small amounts of 1 grain to 1 troy oz or more
You can browse eBay or any of the precious metal selling sites to get a feel for prices
My first purchase was coins of 1/10 oz - easy money if I ever need to cash them in or barter them. You pay a premium over spot price of metal for the coin but get it back when you sell
Silver is also real money and cheaper. Pre-1964 US coins have 90% silver content and are called “junk silver”, you can accumulate them

I don’t care what hoarders say- people will always need some form of recognized money and gold and silver habit from 10,000 years will be hard to break. If your local dealer had gasoline to sell or barter would he prefer silver or gold coin or 10 cans of beans?
Most gold (75%) is bought elsewhere in the world, India and now in vending machines in China. Imagine somoene buying 5 POUNDS of gold from a vending machine! I just wonder how the machines keep up with spot prices?
I have about 6 months of canned goods that don't need to be cooked or heated. I won't break into that until the wildlife disappears.
Of course, plenty of ammo for the tools.
Every payday I allocate $25 for survival goods.
If the SHTF scenario really occurs, that won’t be the least of it. Interesting times. God luck, all.
