Many supporters of Gov. Perry have come to his defense over this Gardasil matter. The arguments are: (1) Gardasil should have been mandatory with the "opt-out" provision; (2) No big deal because the Texas legislature killed the Executive Order; or (3) as Perry says today, he made a mistake, should have made it "opt-in." Now comes word that Perry's top donor was the Republican Governors Association and that Merck began donating to RGA when Perry became its head.
Well, I’ve been blessed to reach my aspirations in life including marrying up, raising some great children, and reaching the top office in my profession for a large, successful company.
You are right to the degree that having people you trust and know to be proven in their respective fields is what you seek. But I hesitate to call them cronies to the extent that they receive special treatment or a quid pro quo.
We all rise or sink on the merits. If you select a team that includes flacks, your reputation is on the line and your performance suffers as a result.
If he can’t withstand the scrutiny he is inevitably going to face should be be nominated to run against Obama and the media who can?
He’s our best chance.
$30 T or even $250 T ain't no thang in politics. Ask the Post ~ they spend millions on their boys.
Just a little to add to that:
Presidential Candidate Rick Perry said that.
Elected Governor Rick Perry used Obama-like demagoguery against those who were voting to override him, calling them shameful spreaders of misinformation who were putting womens lives at risk.
Almost like the dude above who accused someone of being for cervical cancer. Maybe little Rick has decided to pay us a visit?
A copout.
What is this “our” business ? Maybe yours. An open borders RINO is DOA. Didn’t McCain teach you that ?
Compare Perry’s history with 0bama’s?
Who would you prefer to go up against 0bama’s history?
Romney would cave to dems in a blink of an eye.
Even Paul has more guts then Romney.
As so many others have, you mistake Republican for Conservative or even conservative.
You Republicans have brought us McCain, Bushes (fine men but not Conservatives), Dole, Kemp, Ford, Chaffee, etc etc etc.
Damn Republicans nominated McCain, the guy who undermined a GOP majority in BOTH houses while the GOP had the White House!!! That has to be the most bone headed move in the world’s history of politics!
Truth be known, Palin, Bachman, and Perry are all RINOs, aren’t they?
Did you know that in one congressional district in Florida, the Democrats are far more Conservative that most GOP Republicans? Know why? Because the whole district is so solidly Republican that if anyone wants to seriously challenge the incumbent, the challenger has to change parties. It is essentially a one party district.
If there was a better party than the Republicans, I’d join. But there isn’t so I’m a RINO. And proud.
And you’re a Republican. Nuff said.
Hey, you could be like Obama and have no one but cronies and well wishers working for you.
Look at the folks going on and on about it, ronpaul, Michelle and lil Rick.
The biggest argument they seem to have is OPT-IN. Let’s look at OPT-IN, that means the girls who probably are being exposed to HPV are the girls who’se parents (used very loosely) don’t really care what they do and would be the last ones to ever even think about a vaccine to protect their daughters. Basically holder’s people and whitetrash. AND, equally important, the one’s the taxpayers would be picking up the medical bills for.
Those parents that actually cared enough to worry about Gardisil or HPV and would be likely to OPT-OUT would be doing their best to protect their duaghters from being sexually active and as a result would be the group LEAST likly to need the vaccine.
Now Perry can’t get on national TV and explain it that way as it would make a bigger stink from the left.
I say Bachmann and Santorim are picking the wrong fight with Perry, because I am most likly not the only conservative understanding the REAL reason for OPT-OUT.
Q: What do Perry, Slick Willard and Zero all have in common ?
A: They all voted against Ronald Reagan.
Gov Perry does not want ObamaCare, nor does any of the other GOP candidates. Nominating Romney takes the ObamaCare issue off the table, hence he is not viable in my view.
But we cannot justify the appearance of impropriety by pointing out the improprieties of Obama. In fact, my apprehension is that with Perry getting plenty of Merck money, he takes the crony capitalism issue off the table too, as it would be a counter-argument for the litany of Obama cronyism.
I’m a Conservative. You’re the one pimping a RINO.
Q: What do Perry, Slick Willard and Zero all have in common ?
A: They all have followers who stick their fingers in their ears and yell “LALALALALA’ whenever the shocking record of their candidate is brought up.
They were the only ones?
Not a fan of Rick Perry.....he’s McCain but with less grey hair.
Rick Perry’s special interest in this :

Yeah right.
That bears repeating in bold type.
Nothing legally, morally, or ethically wrong with it...as long as no lines are crossed.
This whole thread is based on your stated premise that Merck, RGA, and Perry committed crimes. But you offer nothing at all other than innuendo.
Got any proof of wrong doing? Or just innuendo?
