Anthony Weiner's former seat. This is a district that has gone RAT since 1923. As of 10:15 PM, Bob Turner(R) leads David Weprin (D) 56% to 43%.
This race will send a message to the regime similar to Brown's election in MA just before the 2010 election.

Red State is keeping it posted also...but ballots were only 40% in. Turner was quite a bit ahead.

This is so cool. Unfortunately, I’m here in NJ and so don’t have New York 1. Ed Koch was just about to speak but Greta cut him off to talk to Tim Pawlenty (!). She was so impressed that Koch - a Democrat - supported a Republican. How can this obviously seasoned journalist not know that Koch has often crossed party lines? This is no great surprise.
Still, this may be a wonderful upset.

Weprin will win by a 58-53 percent margin ......

Oh that looks great. Hope it keeps up...

The mere fact that the left has to sweat this one out is sweet. If Turner wins just icing on the cake!!!

Anthony Weiner's former seat. This is a district that has gone RAT since 1923.And Chuck Schumer's. And Geraldine Ferraro's. More or less, anyway; obviously the district lines have moved over the years.
The district is the very definition of diversity. Substantial populations of Jewish, Italian, Irish, and Latino voters. If the Dems are in trouble here, they're in trouble everywhere.
Turner might say: "If I can make it here, I can make it anywhere."

It looks hopeful, however 0% of Brooklyn has been counted and 5% of Queens has been counted and Democrats own the house. I'm not staying up.
Should Turner win I doubt it will rattle the windows at The White House, but it will at the DNC.

A good portion of the Jewish vote is voting against Occupant’s party since Occupant has fanned the flames against Israel since he was placed in his current residence. Unfortunately for Occupant, but fortunately for The United States of America, this is the forecast for the prevailing political winds over our glorious Republic from sea to shining sea for the next 14 months...
