FULLTITLE: Why fathers are faithful: Becoming a dad causes a testosterone drop that makes men less likely to stray
They say having a family changes a man for ever. But it may not just be a sense of duty that drives new dads to swap evenings in the pub for quiet nights at home.
Scientists have discovered fatherhood can halve testosterone levels and stop men from straying.
A study has found that when men become fathers, their bodies suppress production of the sex hormone, making them more interested in parenting than mating.
American researchers studied more than 600 men over a five-year period in their 20s. During this time, around a third had a child with their partner.
The scientists found that this group started off with the highest testosterone levels, but having their first child made their production of the hormone plummet.
And the biggest drop was in fathers who took the most hands-on approach to child care.

having more than one child decreases the desire to have more LOL...who’d a thunk it?
For the meager sum of $2million in grant money, I’ll publish all my data that teenagers can make you want to to never breed again.
Sweet!!
Even comparing the two is like comparing the peak of some cheap porno centerfold with the real thing from the woman you love.
Never stopped the ghetto daddies on Jerry Springer or Maury's show. They have 20 kids with 20 different mamas.
that’s what Viagra is for, George Bush decided Medicare should be sure a man never has to experience that ‘medical’ condition.
The former governor of california couldn't be reached for a comment.
Because it couldn’t possibly be that men can put aside temptation and make a conscious decision to be faithful to their wifes and to their vows before a holy God. Nah.../s

I would think that a father would need more testosterone in order to go out and compete in the world job market to bring in income to provide for his family. Not less. A father/husband doesn’t stray, not because of testosterone levels, but because he chooses to love his wife and stay faithful.
Puh-leeze. Those of us with ten children are proof that some men continue functioning just fine.

Having a woman that just went through childbirth breaking your hand and making you sit next to a crib for 72 hrs, well, it tends to do that.
So you’re saying that making a conscious decision lowers testosterone? Interesting.
Gives new meaning to “pump it up”.
What was it they said about correlation and causation? Dummies..
Some men are just less virile than others. I’m sure it’s not my fault ...
