Americans reject Tea Party ideas - Obama AFP September 13, 2011 1:22AM

PRESIDENT Barack Obama says the "vast majority" of Americans reject the ideas of the archconservative Tea Party movement.

"We've always had a anti-federal government bent in a chunk of our population. That's nothing new," Obama has told NBC News, referring to the anti-federal nature of the Tea Party, whose fervour swept in dozens of new Republican House of Representatives members in the 2010 mid-term elections.

Many of Obama's probable opponents in the next White House election, in 2012, also subscribe to that outlook, with frontrunner Texas Governor Rick Perry repeatedly vowing to get the national government out of people's lives.

"I do think that the extreme position that you hear that says government has no role to play in growing our economy, that the federal government has no function to play in building a strong middle class, is absolutely wrong," Obama said.

"I reject that view. And I think the vast majority of Americans reject that view."

What the heck would the government have to do with building a middle class, and how is it “extreme” to keep government out of our lives and - Do these people realize we already have a strong middle class that made America great and THEY are the ones strangling it with taxes and income redistribution?

Well put. A strong middle class comes from economic growth and rewarding those who take risks, do well, play by the rules, etc. Obama's Marxist policies punish everything that would actually produce a strong middle class and reward being unproductive. Every day this guy sinks to a more loathsome level.

Balancing a budget, reducing the size of government from it’s bloated size, keeping taxes low and the government more out of the private sector so it can boom is NOT WHAT AMERICANS WANT?

Maybe those connected to communist ideals.

When both the rest of the ‘rats and his vast worshipful retinue are either griping about him and/or putting as much distance as possible between them, you’ve got to have SOMEBODY to carry the daily Line to the masses, dontcha?

Sounding more like Baghdad Bob by the second.....if anybody is still listening.

They really need to make up their mind what story they want to go with on the tea party. First, they said it was an “astroturf” movement. Then they said that they brought the country into a downgrade on the economy because of the debt debates. Now they’re irrelevant again?

Which is it, Dems ... are they meaningless, or are they the most powerful minority ever in Congress?

To the extent that the Lamestream Media has been able to paint a caricature of the Tea Party that looks like a Nazi Storm Trooper in a Klan Robe who has joined some sort of doomsday cult, he may get away with this.

It’s called “Giving ‘em the Sarah Palin Treatment”.

Think of the slaughter next year if Americans accept the Tea Party’s ideas...? LOL

Does Valerie Jarret softly whisper into Barry’s ear every night telling him in between his sobs that everything is really OK?

The guy is a basket case...

What eles could a socialist/statist say ?

As a champion of “governmnet does it all for you” (conveniently “forgetting” to include the essential - quid pro quo - it has all the power too), he cannot abide any movement re-awakening realization in the voting populace they are in control, and have the whip hand; if only they’ll exert it ! BTW, this reality also scares the hell out of the RIF GOP minions as well ! > PS

It’s not anti-Federal to be for a limited Federal government.

It’s pro-Federal.

If it weren’t we wouldn’t have a federation of States and instead we’d have just a single centralized government (yes I know, we virtually do).

The Dems all over the country are going to run against the Tea Party. Good Luck with that plan has no chance of working. Voting because you hate is not all that inspiring. They are so “History.”
