AND NOW . . . amidst billowing clouds of fragrant, aromatic first- and second-hand premium cigar smoke. . . it is time for . . . that harmless, lovable little fuzz ball, the highly-trained broadcast specialist, having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, from behind the golden EIB microphone, firmly ensconced in the prestigious Attila-the-Hun chair at the Limbaugh Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies, serving humanity simply by showing up, and hes not retiring until every American agrees with him, do NOT doubt him, with shrieks of joy at the mere mention of his name (thats Rush, for those in Rio Linda),the Mandarin of Talk Radio, with talent on loan from G-d, at the cutting-edge of societal evolution, with half his brain tied behind his back just to make it fair, the all-knowing, all-caring, all-sensing, all-feeling, all-concerned Maha-Rushie! Americas anchorman, truth detector, and doctor of democracy. A Real Man, a living legend, a way of life. Commander in Chief of U.S. Operation Chaos. Chief Waga-Waga El Rushbo of the El Conservo Tribe. Chief of the Patriotism Police. Leader of the Conservative Movement. A Weapon of Mass Instruction. El Rushbo (a little Spanish lingo, there). He is the man who is running America (you know it and I know it). He knows the Democrats like every square inch of his glorious naked body. He is ready to do what he was born to dothats host. Get ready to what you were born to dothats listen (and post your comments on the Rush Limbaugh LIVE Radio Thread).

Emotionally exhausted after yesterday. It would have been 10 years ago today that the last survivor was pulled from the rubble; 27 hours after the collapse.
Seeing htose images just brought it all back.

I really couldn’t watch most of the coverage—it was too much for me.
I can still remember the day very vividly, even what I was doing hours before it happened.
I remembered on my own. I could see no reason to watch the coverage and catch the PC or edited version of events.
Me too. Of course, I was still in law school so I had a pretty set schedule.
My husband’s aunt was chief of staff for David Vitter at the time and was in the Capital; her husband was visiting their daughter in New York and has pictures of the dust cloud. I remember scurrying about to find out their status all day.
Every emotion I felt that day, I still feel so vividly.
Bump
C-BS’s replay of the Naudet brothers documentary was not edited from the first release. I actually own that documentary and we usually watch it on 9/11; but didn’t this year because C-BS was airing it.
However, the memorial services were very moving, and hearing Mark Bingham’s mom speak...there was nothing PC about what she had to say, though she is a very well spoke and knowlegable lady.
spoken* (Apparently, she speaks better than I type.)
Good Monday Morning!
We should never ever forget what happened ten years ago on September 11th..a day that will always be etched in my heart and mind with pain and horror.
Sadly missing yesterday...AMERICAN Flags on cars and houses. We couldn’t drive anywhere without seeing them after that day on Sept 11, 2001. Ten years later, hardly one flag here in Los Angeles!
After all the crap I read about it ahead of time, I made the assumption that they would botch it up. I would be pleased to be incorrect on this one.
Things like this:
Major League Baseball short-hops 9/11 tribute, didn’t let Mets wear “NYPD” caps.
In Los Angeles, that would be Mexican terrorists?
I didn’t really watch much of anything other than the replays of the actual footage of that day, and the memorial services. I caught bits and pieces on Fox here and there but I have no idea really what else was shown.
I did enjoy watching Rudy’s address as he had to have said the word “God” at least 10 times in his closing.
bttt
We saw very few flags in our area as well. I donned a patriotic t-shirt (not that that matters much), but I noticed more people wearing Steelers shirts yesterday than anything else since there was a game later that day.
Are there really any Mets fans left? (Ha ha)
Compare that to the crowds chanting USA and cheering during the National Anthem at the NFL games.
I watched that as well as some documentaries on the History Channel. I saw things and heard about things I hadn’t known before. I remember there seemed to be an effort to hold back information after 9/11 for fear of a backlash against Muslims. I guess those who shape the news feel it is safe to let out more information to the public since “cowboy Bush” is gone and BHO is now president.
I watched about five minutes of MSLSD before I had to leave the room and cool off.
I dvred a lot of the History Channel stuff; but haven’t watched it yet.
