NY Times blames Israel for attack on Cairo Embassy
American Thinker ^ | 9/11/11 | Leo Rennert

Posted on 09/11/2011 3:10:17 PM PDT by Nachum

In its September 11 edition, the New York Times runs a front-page article by Jerusalem bureau chief Ethan Bronner, which, instead of blaming fanatical Egyptian rioters, assigns the biggest share of blame to Israel for the violent attack on its Cairo Embassy and the forced departure of its diplomatic staff ("Beyond Cairo, Israel Sensing A Wider Siege -- Embassy Assault a Sign of a Mideast in Flux")

In full gloom-and-doom mode, Bronner paints a dark picture of an "increasingly isolated" Israel with "limited and poor options" amid rising anti-Israel sentiment in neighboring countries.

Pouring more salt on the wound, Bronner opines that Israel largely brought these problems upon itself -- a clear case of blaming the offended rather than the offender.

As part of his dump-on-Israel slant, Bronner trots out as his first analyst Aluf Benn, editor-in-chief of the leftist Israeli newspaper Haaretz, who accuses Prime Minister Netanyahu of "not having done a thing to mitigate the fallout from confrontations in which Israeli forces killed Egyptian and Turkish citizens." (Bronner is referring to three Egyptian soldiers killed along the Sinai border while Israel was pursuing terrorists who had just killed Israelis near Eilat, and to Israel's refusal to apologize for last year's raid on a bockade-running Turkish ship, in which nine violent Turkish extremists were killed when they launched brutal attacks on Israeli commandos boarding the ship)

Of course it’s Israel’s fault. If they didn’t have an embassy there well then the Egyptians wouldn’t have any reason to trash the place. /sarc

"rising anti-Israel sentiment in neighboring countries."

Pro-Israel sentiment used to be overwhelming in neighboring countries.

Every day more people are brushing off the New York Times as childish and irrelevant.
This latest childish obscenity is merely the latest childish obscenity. (shrug)

Terribly sad. This is the kind of thinking that leads to mass murder. Given the date I would say Bronner has really bad timing.

This was posted on another thread today, but it clearly shows why the NYT as a very leftist organization does what it does when it comes to groveling at the feet of Muslims.

Why I will tune out the 9/11 commemorations
September 10th, 2011 |

The September 11th attack on America, in which devout Muslim believers carried out the greatest single jihad raid in history, and Muslims around the world cheered and danced in joy over this great blow to the infidel, should have awakened America and the West to the nature of the 1,400 year old warrior religion of Islam. Instead, while triggering a “war against terrorism,” the 9/11 attack inspired liberal America to embrace and approve of Islam much more than it had done before, even as Americans allowed themselves to be placed under permanent and humiliating security measures out of the liberal imperative to avoid the slightest hint of discrimination against Muslims.

These unexpected and devastating outcomes of 9/11 are perhaps the greatest single illustration of Auster’s First Law, which says that the more alien or dangerous a nonwhite or non-Western group reveals itself to be, the more our liberal society approves of it, accommodates itself to it, and forbids any criticism of it. To speak the truth about the unchangeable Islamic command to wage eternal war by violence and stealth against non-Muslims and about Muslims’ 1,400 year long obedience to that command, is to place oneself outside the respectable mainstream. In America you don’t get put in jail for speaking the forbidden truth, you just lose your job and career. This is the reign of fear under which we live.

In sum, the result of 9/11 has not been Western self-defense against Islam, but the prohibition of Western self-defense against Islam. And all the official 9/11 commemorations, notwithstanding their patriotic appearance, will carry that message of American and Western surrender. And that is why they should be avoided.

However, there will be some 9/11 anniversary events that deal seriously with the Islam threat, and they will be worth attending. For example, Sam Solomon, a knowledgeable critic of Islam, particularly of the Islamic doctrine of subversion of a non-Muslim society via Muslim immigration (see this, this, and this), will be speaking in New York City on September 11, though I don’t yet know the location.

The NYT consistently falls on the side of evil, whatever the subject.

Huh... I don’t see editorial or opinion at the NYT article, can someone point it out to me?

If not, does that mean that objective reporters without bias are no longer the standard?

And I blame the NYT for egging on and supporting the muzzies.

The actual frontpage of The New York Times of November 11, 1938
did not mention that the German Nazi government actually initiated the NewYorkTimes-supported attacks.
Instead, the New York Times lied and protected the Nazis, falsely claiming that Goebbels called to stop it.

This “blame Israel” for the current mess Obama and his pals have caused with their “Arab Spring” mobs was trotted out by Gates last week. Now the New York Times introduces the Jews who will betray Israel to name BiBi as the monster causing everything.

The Israeli Left thinks the jihadists Obama has empowered in the Arab Nations will stop if Israel signs Obama’s demand for ‘67 borders. But in truth, that is when Obama’s jihadist governments will come on against Israel full force.

The Arabs and the global socialists don’t want Israel to exist. That Region of the world is supposed to be Islamic in the globalist scheme of things. They will not tolerate the Arab turmoil of the Jews existing in the middle of it. In the name of peace, destruction will come. But the Islamists are in for a surprise - especially Egypt.

It has all been set into motion now. Change is not always an honorable and good thing. Especially when a Muslim is behind it.

New York, Friday, November 11, 1938
NAZIS SMASH, LOOT AND BURN JEWISH SHOPS AND TEMPLES UNTIL GOEBBELS CALLS HALT
All Vienna’s Synagogues Attacked; Fires and Bombs Wreck 18 of 21
Jews Are Beaten, Furniture and Goods Flung from Homes and Shops — 15,000 Are Jailed During Day — 20 Are Suicides

Those are the headlines and sub-headlines of the actual page you posted. In the first paragraph we learn the cause of all this violence:

VIENNA, Nov. 10. — In a surge of revenge for the murder of a German diplomat in Paris by a young Polish Jew…

So that’s it! It was the Jews fault! (Certainly those 20 suicides were. No one forced them to commit suicide, the filthy infidels.)

Goebbels was such a wonderful Nazi, wasn’t he? I wonder if the NYT gave him an award for his awesome humanitarian work.
