BTTT.
I’ve been trying to avoid the 10th anniversary, so I haven’t been paying too much attention. Not because I’ve forgotten, but because I knew it was going to get me choked up.
This one got me choked up.
Never Forget. Prayers for the friends & family lost on that day

You will notice that President Bush never mentioned himself once in that speech.
He referred to us, we and our.
God bless and keep him safe.

we had a live thread on this earlier- it was a tremendous speech from GWB, from the heart, not the garbage off the teleprompter the POS in the White House gives us...i was taken by GWB’s quote of, “at a time when democracy was being attacked the passengers went to the back of the plane and had a vote”...

In the top 5 of his speeches.
For me I think the top one was at the National Cathedral three days after 9/11. The one on 9/20/01 - a PROPER reason for a JSOC - also ranks Top 5.

Wow. So that is what a real leader sounds like. I had forgotten. Beautiful, humble, and inspiring. God Bless George W. Bush and Laura.

Wonderful speech, thanks for the link. THAT was a President...good to remember in times like this.
To: mc5cents
This is an awesome speech. Few will ever hear it, unfortunately. The enemedia will hide it just as they did many of his inspiring speeches during his presidency.
The Yahoo opening page has a picture of Clinton with a headline link featuring "Clinton's Mighty Gesture at Ceremony". His mighty gesture (not even written as sarcasm)is working with Boehner to raise money for finishing the memorial. Collecting other people's money is not a grand gesture in my book. What was ex42 doing there anyway?
The article finally mentioned GWB in the last two sentences, saying: Former President George W. Bush, Vice President Joe Biden, Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar and Boehner also attended the ceremony. Bush declared in his remarks that the passengers heroism was the first counteroffensive in the war on terror.

Thank you. I had to work today so I didn’t see any of the memorial services. That gave me tears and chills. I love W and God was looking out for us when he became POTUS.
