BREAKING: Third Fast & Furious gun at Terry murder scene covered up
Seattle Gun Rights Examiner ^ | 9 September, 2011 | Dave Workman

Fox News is reporting that a third gun apparently found at the murder scene of Border Patrol agent Brian Terry was linked to Operation Fast and Furious, but its existence may have been deliberately concealed by the FBI to protect the identity of an informant “who works inside a major Mexican cartel.”

That informant, according to the report by Fox reporter William Lajuenesse, “provided the money to obtain the weapons used to kill Terry.” This tends to support statements made by Kenneth Melson, former acting director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, to congressional investigators in a behind-closed-doors interview on July 4, as reported by this column.

Sources say emails support their contention that the FBI concealed evidence to protect a confidential informant. Sources close to the Terry case say the FBI informant works inside a major Mexican cartel and provided the money to obtain the weapons used to kill Terry.—Fox News

“Gunrunner” started under President Bush and was supposed to keep guns from going into Mexico. It failed to find any major gunrunning organization, likely because there was none, just a bunch of small timers.

“Gunwalker” started under President Obama in 2009, and was likely designed to create the “Iron River of Guns” that “Gunrunner” had failed to find. Over 2000 guns were involved in “Gunwalker” so far. Here is a link to most of the articles on Gunwalker posted on FR:

Speaking of mysterious disappearances of Fast and Furious guns, does anybody know anything about the origin of the AK-47 used in the recent Carson City murders of the National Guardsmen?

It appears this crime has completely disappeared from public view along with where the murder weapon came from and how the killer got it.

What is the differences between Gunrunner and Gunwalker?

Gunrunner: A program started under President Bush, to intensively investigate gunshops in the border states. The idea was to find organized gunrunning to Mexico and to stop it.

Gunwalker: After Gunrunner failed to find any largescale gunrunning to Mexico, Gunwalker was created to allow "straw buyers" to take guns to Mexican cartels. The purpose given is to find the routes of the big gunrunners, in Mexico so that they could be "taken down". Just how this was to be done has never been explained, especially as the ATF has no jurisdiction in Mexico, and they had explicit instructions *not* to tell the Mexican authorities what was going on. The ATF agents on the ground repeatedly warned their superiors that bad things would happen with the guns that they "let walk". Previously it had been a hard and fast rule in ATF never to let guns that were under investigation "walk" that is, to get out of their control. The response from the higher ups in ATF was that "if you are going to make an omellete, you have to break some eggs".

It seems much more likely that after ATF failed to find an "Iron River" of guns flowing south (the average age of guns traced to Mexico was 14 years), the administration decided to create such an iron river. It appears that a significant portion of the 2,000 plus guns "walked" were purchased with money provided to informants by the FBI.

Now we see similar tactics were used in Indiana, Texas, and Florida, though we do not have as much documentation or clear numbers for those locations. The operation in Phoenix was called "Fast and Furious". We do not know if there are names for the other operations. Overall, the scandal is called "Gunwalker".

Thank you that was a very good explanation. Bush's plan did nothing illegal as I can see, but obamma's plan is illegal to the hilt, that is obvious!

I would think any plan of this magnitude had to be okayed at the very top of government, with the president himself having to sign off on this, as this was very very dangerous and stupid, since we were operating undercover in a foreign country? Wow!

very very dangerous and stupid

That does make it sound like a signature President Obama plan.

Holder absolutely had to sign off on this plan with all the myriad of legal issues involved since he is the AG, and he would never have signed off on this without his buddy obamma having approved of it also. obamma cannot pin the blame on a rogue Federal agency, try as he may. (actually more than one Federal agency was involved I read somewhere, iirc?)

I'm sure it's being investigated but I've been asking the same question out loud to my friends.
And the evaporation of the MSM on this MURDER makes me more curious.

I just got off the phone to my friend in Reno and the rumor going around
is that the weapon very well could be one of the FaF guns. also, the MSM there
has slowed reporting and seeking out information.

Another thing being rumored is that the Carson shooter had an expired Visa.
That means he was an illegal, which would be another reason for the MSM
to further ignore this story.

We need more facts.

Thanks for your input.

It is about what I suspect. There is more here than meets the eye. Otherwise, the information wouldn't have been shut down so quickly.

Something is being hidden by the authorities, probably the feds. They descended in force and took control very quickly from the local police. Since then there has been a virtual blackout on information.

The feds are all hands on deck and it is probably to hide something on Fast and Furious and major ties to the cartels and perhaps violent La Raza activities. I would bet big money on that.

If holder did not know then he is so stupid that he should be removed from office and if he did know he should be arrested and removed from office and sent to prison for the rest of his life.

Until the talking points shift from “Botched “ to something else like foolish or il-conceived, the criminal enterprise that is Obama / Holder will not suffer one bit.

-- The FBI obstructed justice to protect and informant in a murder case...? --

That is nothing new.

Bulger had inducted several top FBI agents in the Boston office into his gang, and used the FBI as his enforcement arm to eliminate his rivals within his own Winter Hill Gang and in the Italian La Cosa Nostra (Mafia). According to his indictment, Bulger's gang committed at least 19 murders in a spree that lasted from 1965-1994. He spent 16 years evading federal officials, some of whom may never have wanted him to have been captured alive. Two FBI agents were eventually convicted of crimes related to helping Bulger commit murder, H. Paul Rico (who died in prison in 2004) and John Connolly (who will soon be transferred from a federal prison where he's serving time for a RICO conviction to Florida to serve 40 years for a murder charge).

I would think any plan of this magnitude had to be okayed at the very top of government,

to coordinate several alphabet agencies under DOJ [fbo, atf etc] with portions of homeland security, possibly NSA and *legally* a MUST to involve State Dept, it HAD to be run from a very few chiefs' desks...

fish rots from the head and all that...

wouldnt suprise me if the directive came straight from the antique desk with all the heel marks on it witht the title 'operation iron river'...

goto david codreas' gun rights examiner page and check the collection of links he and mike v have put together...

lots of necks should be gettin stretched, but prolly wont...which will signal further corruption ...
