George W. Bush spoke this afternoon at the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. It was a beautiful speech. One of his best.
From his speech today: On 9-11, The most lives lost on American soil on a single day since the Battle of Antietam.
One of the lessons of 9-11 is that evil is real and so is courage.
At the moment American democracy was under attack our citizens defied their captors by holding a vote. The choice they made would cost them their lives. And they knew it. Many passengers called their loved ones to say good-bye. Then hung up to perform their final act.
The Flight 93 heroes led the first counter attack in the WAR ON TERROR.
The temptation of isolation is deadly wrong.
Bush receives a standing ovation. Even Bill Clinton and Veep Joe Biden stood up.

I liked him too. I didn’t agree with everything he did, but I don’t agree with everything anybody does. And I believe he did love America, which is certainly not something you can say about his successor.
“Can you imagine if Obama were President on 9-11?”
If Obama or Al Gore were President on 9/11 all us gals would be wearing burkas and all the men would be wearing turbans and praying to Mecca five times a day.
Post #4, “For all his faults, I really do miss W. Especially considering what he was replaced with. Hell, I think I even miss Clinton at this point.”
Post #6 of which I responded to: “Hell, I think I even miss Clinton at this point.
Says how far we’ve fallen.
My post #14 as response to Post #6: “Please dont miss the bastard too much as history someday will recognize him for his immense contributions to all aspects of the disaster that is today, and he will be acknowledged as the one that prepared the way in our government, on Wall St., and in major Corporate America, and International Corporations operating in America for the extreme Leftism that is, and has been supporting the won in his systematic destruction of what was once the greatest there ever was.
Clinton smiles because so far everyone else is getting the blame.”
NOTE THAT I WAS NOT ADDRESSING ABOUT BUSH, BUT WAS ADDRESSING ABOUT CLINTON.
Your apologies are accepted.
Bush was forever changed by 9/11. I believe his FBI appointee Robert Mueller was on the job 3 days, and his DOJ appointee, may not have been confirmed. The Democrats held up a bunch of confirmations, then tried to hang 9/11 all on him. He had been in office about 9 months and Clinton 8 years and a lot of Clinton’s appointees were still there.
‘One of the lessons of 9-11 is that evil is real and so is courage.’
Worth remembering!
He IS NOT my leader. Never.
9/11. Never forget. And Never Forgive.
I agree!
Excellent speech. It reminded me how much courage so many people showed. Sometimes terrible things bring out the worst in human nature; sometimes they bring out the best.
