George W. Bush spoke this afternoon at the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. It was a beautiful speech. One of his best.
From his speech today: On 9-11, “The most lives lost on American soil on a single day since the Battle of Antietam.”
“One of the lessons of 9-11 is that evil is real and so is courage.”
“At the moment American democracy was under attack our citizens defied their captors by holding a vote. The choice they made would cost them their lives. And they knew it. Many passengers called their loved ones to say good-bye. Then hung up to perform their final act.”
“The Flight 93 heroes led the first counter attack in the WAR ON TERROR.”
“The temptation of isolation is deadly wrong.”
Bush receives a standing ovation. Even Bill Clinton and Veep Joe Biden stood up.

GWB speaking of Flight 93- “At a moment when democracy was being attacked the passengers went to the back of the plane and took a vote”- that passage will live with me forever...
For all his faults, I really do miss W. Especially considering what he was replaced with. Hell, I think I even miss Clinton at this point.

Why do people here have to mention his “faults” even when praising him? Only because of those who have been infected by BDS. Of course he had faults ....all people and all politicians do ....Bush was honest and will be honest in his disagreements with others. There is nothing more that can be asked,
Some here hate him because he disagreed with them. I thank God he thinks for himself.
Bush is a whole lot better than people give him credit for....may he have a long enough life to prove his critics wrong.

Please don’t miss the bastard too much as history someday will recognize him for his immense contributions to all aspects of the disaster that is today, and he will be acknowledged as the one that prepared the way in our government, on Wall St., and in major Corporate America, and International Corporations operating in America for the extreme Leftism that is, and has been supporting the “won” in his systematic destruction of what was once the greatest there ever was.

A great tribute to the Flight 93 heroes. Three “dislikes” from Al Qaeda supporters. A nice remembrance though of what it was like back when adults were running our country.

Agree. His inclusion of how they recited the Lord’s Prayer was also powerful - I didn’t know they did that.

I was not really going after you ....there is an entire children’s choir on FR that cannot do anything but tell us how bad GW was. I am sick to death of them ...but I think their hatred had filtered into the general conversation to where everyone is apologetic if they praise Bush.
