My vote is alcohol ... he ain’t no George Washington.
I SO miss the “Day in the life of Prtesident Bush” threads, with the wonderful pictures of him and Laura.. BUT I am grateful there are no such picture threads of the Grifters currently occupying 1600 Penn Ave.
Laura is such a lovely, gracious person. She took Pres. Bush’s arm as they walked to the memorial, and then guided another of the officials (I don’t know who he was) to stand next to her. Quietly making sure everyone is comfortable and everything is done right. So UNLIKE our present first lady.
I will always remember January 20, 2001
Amazingly prescient words, maica.
President Bush didn't know what was ahead, but God did.....
Don’t know but the only one who should be there is Mr. Bush. Carter removed the Shaw, Clinton diddled, and Biden fiddles...
They can’t help but be relieved to be away from that “stuff” and be able to live their lives privately. And I don’t think the bashers bother them a bit!
(P.S. Nice to “talk” to you! I don’t get a chance to check in here very often anymore but just had to today.)
That sounds so familiar... I swear I heard something like that before- at another memorial or ceremony of national import.
As an avid American history buff, I must take issue with you!!! What transpired onboard United Flight 73 on September 11, 2001 changed the history and future of the USA. If UAL flight 73 has continued on without passengers overpowering the Muslim terrorists, only the Lord almighty knows how many Americans would have been slaughtered by virtue of the aircraft impacting our Capitol building in Washington, DC. The Pentagon, the WTC and the Capitol whacked on one day would be like Pearl Harbor, three times over.
In the battle of Midway, we could have easily lost WWII but for the sacrifice and loss of our torpedo fighter bombers in the opening phase of the battle. Remember, the Japanese had superior aircraft carrier presence. When our TBFs attacked, the Japanese air cover above cut them all to pieces, not one returned!!! But.....in defending the Japanese fleet....the Japanese fighters became low on fuel and had to get back to carriers to be refueled. Just as that movement was in progress, the American fighter bombers dived in on the Japanese carriers who were now, not protected by overhead air cover. Result, four Japanese carriers destroyed and the Battle of Midway won by the Americans. And....with the destruction of those carriers, the Japanese Navy was never the same!!!
So.....you can see that the sacrifice of our TBFs and pilots was a tragedy, but their heroic actions enabled the fighter bombers to carry the day and.....in the end win WWII in the Pacific theater!!!
So much for Obama and his “hate America” wife!!! They should have been there both today and tomorrow. The problem is that neither Obama or Michelle know one iota of American excellence, nor any American history. Shucks, I’ll bet if I went to the WH and chatted about the “Tuskegee Airman”, Obama would not have a clue whom I was talking about. But....the Muslim Brotherhood, along with Jeremiah Wright, Louie Farrakhan, Van Jones, Bill Ayres, etc., he knows all about them!!! The Pennsylvania crash site is but a 20 minute helicopter ride from the White House lawn!!! IMHO, I’m sorry, but POTUS Obama and his wife are naught but “dirt bags” to the maximum, IMHO!!!
We stood up as he finished his speech and joined in with the audience for a heartfelt standing ovation.
I miss George W Bush...
I noticed also her hand on her husband's knee before he spoke. Always there to reassure and support him. I think he called her his 'rock.' And for good reason!

And now I am undone.
The Obozo is such a divisive figure right now, I wonder if maybe his handlers suggested he not go to this Flight 93 memorial. He might have been booed.
I miss those threads too!
I pray that someone worthy of following (NOT just someone who can “beat Obama” but a true conservative who will look to and follow the Constitution) will be elected in 2012.
He ran out of puff (or something) before the end of Amazing Grace.
Hope all is well with you.
(President Bush brought together the nicest group of people, didn't he? :)
Lest we forget......

I clapped and my eyes filled with tears at what we once had and now are missing so badly.
Never heard Faith Of Our Fathers played using that tune.
My first comment needs to be one of condolences to the people who lost their lives, and their families.
This was a real tragedy, caused by Islamic furor and blind hatred of the United States and U. S. Citizens.
Arthur, you’re asking the exact question that first came to my mind. I went so far as to google the Flight 93 memorial design, and came up with bupkis.
All they showed at the sights I found, were the same photos in close-up, so you couldn’t make a determination of overall design, or more importantly the overall impression the aerial view would generate.
I only visited about three sites, so it is quite possible there are resources out there I didn’t tap, that could alleviate the question for both of us.
Good post.
“So much for Obama and his hate America wife!!! They should have been there both today and tomorrow. The problem is that neither Obama or Michelle know one iota of American excellence, nor any American history.”
True, except they won’t miss tomorrow’s opportunity to at least “appear” American and patriotic.

Looks like they are going to be everywhere tomorrow. Speaking? or just doing flyovers?
On Sunday, the president and First Lady Michelle Obama will mark the anniversary of 9/11 by visiting the grounds of the World Trade Center in New York City, the site where Flight 93 crashed in Shanksville, Penn., as well as the Pentagon. Later, the first couple will also attend A Concert for Hope at the Kennedy Center in Washington.
