But Samuelson's neighbor, Fernando Perez, said he told the cops several times that Ozzy was roaming in the back.
When the security alarm system at the home went off, Samuelson called Perez to check it out while she made the 20-minute drive to her house, he said. Perez said he knew not to go into the backyard because of the dog and when officers arrived, he warned them.
"'Be careful. Its a big dog,' I told them. They told me to go back to my house," said Perez, who repeated the warning several more times. "Before I get to my driveway, I hear the two shots. They walked into the backyard with the guns in their hand. Then they ran from the backyard like they were scared or something."
Samuelson said she got Ozzy to protect the house and deter thieves. Police have not said what triggered the alarm.
"He was our protector," Samuelson said. "Hes a huge part of our family."

Dog just had his bath.
Dog keeps admiring himself in mirror.
Dog now thinks he’s in a ZZ Top video.
Dog is being very annoying.
;D
It’s hard to hit a Dobe running at you.
They zig zag in low from the front and then *rapidly* bite/bounce away/bite bounce away/repeat ad infinitum.
That and two Sheps and a Pit chomping on you from behind would be a real attention getter.
Those bass turds. Unbelievable. Are some cops so anxious to fire his/her weapon they will do it, even if it is a family pet? Try shooting one of cop’s dogs. See what happens. Surreal. Remind me, what nation is this?
“anyone who thinks thats a way to TRAIN a dog deserves what theyd get.”
And then some.
:)
Back in the dim and distant past, one of the methods used to “provoke” a dog you were training for attack work was to “flank” them which is grabbing the loose skin between their ribs and their leg.
That -really- torques them off.
You had to have an “agitator” helper with nerves of steel and the speed of a rattlesnake on meth.
I can’t imagine what *kicking* a Dobe there would produce.
An ER visit, at least, I reckon.
That’s just what’s left of the ‘dead man’ dummy he used to train them.
;D
I know that the pups would be playing poker afterwards!
It’s similar to a service dog but does not need to learn specific tasks such as retrieving dropped items, leading the blind, opening doors, alerting deaf people to noises, etc, although they *can* do be taught to do those things if it’s called for.
Service dogs are usually professionally trained by service dog organizations but not always so nor is it legally required.
Support dogs can be trained by their owners.
The support they offer can be anything from emotional, such as PTSD dogs or physical, such as “stability/balance” dogs for people who have fainting spells, vertigo, etc and a whole host of other problems that would take too long to list.
*Many* organizations have popped up just for ‘damaged’ vets who benefit greatly from PTSD dogs.
Here is one story.

A support animal can be just about anything, too.
The ADA has been at the forefront of getting information out to the public about the huge benefits support animals offer to those people for whom no other treatment or counseling has succeeded.
In most cases, they are afforded the same “rights” as service dogs although, as with anything else good and noble, there are those people who perfectly fine but are abusing the system just to be able to carry “Fifi” wherever they go.
A pox upon them.
They cause trouble and hardship for those who actually *do* need a support animal.
“There’s no better psychiatrist than a warm puppy.”
All I’ve ever had were strange dogs.
[I’m starting to suspect it’s *me*]....;D
PERSONAL ATTACK!
You are an ass.
Wonderful dogs!
[but sometimes it’s better to work smarter, not harder]

[warning to the men...prepare to cringe]
LOL
EuroDobes rule.
;]
Odin cheats.
He’s always got a bunch of aces up his sleeve.
Just thought I should warn your dogs.
:)
He remembers the goonie.
Some dogs enjoy the preening after the bath even if they don’t enjoy act of bathing.
Clever.. no lunch required either.
That brings up a good (albeit disturbing) point.
A man who can be trained to have so little concern about the constitutional rights of a law-abiding private citizen that he wantonly and unlawfully destroys his dog will quickly lose moral scruples concerning executing that citizen and his family.
LOL!!! You tooo cute! ;)
Wait. I must take that “cute” thing back.
NO ONE by the name Butch *should* be cute!
;)
These cops engaged in criminal behavior. What they did is no different than a gang member or other criminal shooting a dog in its own yard.
