Mr. President, we cannot spend our way to prosperity, it does not work.
Perry said he has a record of change whereas Obama only offers the rhetoric of change. Though he spent most of his brief remarks assailing the president, Perry vowed to continue to contrast himself with his GOP rivals too.
Perry, who mixed it up at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library Wednesday night with the other Republican presidential hopefuls, particularly Mitt Romney, acknowledged that weve got our differences.
Well talk about them, Perry said, adding hopefully in a very respectful way.
I stood on the stage last night with seven other very, very fine and great Americans and every one of them would better than what we have in the White House today, Perry told the crowd, any one of them.
Few in the crowd seemed to be concerned about Perrys use of the term Ponzi scheme to describe Social Security despite the criticism he has been drawing even from other Republicans. (Perry did not use that phrase on Thursday.) In fact, some of his supporters appeared to be embracing Ponzi scheme as a rallying cry. Orange County Supervisor Shawn Nelson, a Perry backer, who spoke ahead of the governor, praised Perrys use of provocative language.
And Micki Blair, a teacher from nearby Corona, Calif. who said she was leaning toward Perry in the primary, agreed.
I dont think his rhetoric is too strong, she said. I think that people are mature, have a brain. They can figure out that if you dont put enough in, you cant pass it all out. It just doesnt work that way.
Perry will remain in California through the end of the week. He has a full schedule of fundraising events in Southern and Central California and the Bay Area.

Can I help it if I’m great AND modest?
Wy not?... Obamas supporters refused to see the facts as well. Same story with Perry. He's the "star" of the Progessive "right"....here on FR. It's getting pretty darn thick around here. IMO.
I have no problem with people being against Perry. I understand the criticisms of him. It’s primary season. Everyone should support the candidate of their choice.
And I personally also support Palin. At this point I see no contradiction there.
If Palin comes in, I’ll have a choice to make.
Sorry - you are the one that is wrong.
Here's a link from a bill to repeal Perry's generous law allowing illegal aliens to be considered legal residents for purposes of tuition. It indicates that $23 million of taxpayer dollars had gone to subsidize these students in 2009. Given the amount paid by the students, this analysis indicates illegal alien students are paying for less than 30% of their education expenses with the taxpayer picking up the tab for the rest.
SB 1631, Birdwell, Bill Analysis
Under current law, public institutions of higher education provide reduced resident tuition rates for some students who are not lawfully present in the state. Considering the current budget shortfall, added with the fact that these students will not be eligible for legal employment in the United States upon graduation, the state could better allocate these resources. In December 2010, the House Research Organization issued a report that estimated, based on figures from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB), that "the state allocated about $23.6 million in direct aid for these students in fiscal 2009, including funding allocated to institutions and financial aid," whereas these students only "paid a net total of about $9.5 million out of pocket for higher education in fiscal 2009."Taxpayers are subsidizing the education of non-American illegal aliens who cannot even work in this country legally. How does that make any sense?

>> I still miss the Trump-bots :) <<
I miss the Trump-bots too, they were the most entertaining bots of any presidential hopeful here, but at least the Perrybots share their traits of screaming "SMEAR!!!" if you quote their candidate's own words showing him a less-than-conservative light and sneering "And who exactly is YOUR candidate??" if you point out their guy is a lousy choice.
lol! The Perrybots love screaming, "Who is your candidate?!" as if that were, in some strange way, a credible defense of their hero who claims to be a conservative but advocates for ILLEGAL aliens.
More wild is when they claim that we are part of the Obama campaign or that we work for the DNC. The thought of some relative n00b accusing 10-year + members of such treachery is inane; they can't seem to fathom why any conservative would not support a pro-ILLEGAL alien RINO like Mitt Perry. It's almost surreal.
True, I've had quite a few newbies claim I'm working for Obama because I don't like their candidate. They seem to be unaware of the concept of a primary. Apprently they think Perry is already the Republican nominee by virtue of having announced his candidacy.
They have no concept of what a primary is about. Choosing the best conservative candidate means nothing to them. I call them 'political infants'. One day they may understand the process but they clearly do not now.

REFERENCE Bracewell & Giuliani Firm Advises Spain's Cintra in First Privatization of Toll Road in Texas
DALLAS Bracewell & Giuliani LLP advised Cintra Concesiones de Infraestructuras de Transporte, S.A., a Spanish transportation company, in its successful bid to develop State Highway 121 into a toll road through Collin and Denton counties.
The award to Cintra, approved by the Texas Transportation Commission, is the first privatization of a Texas toll road. Bracewell is acting as project counsel to Cintra with respect to the 50-year concession from the Texas Department of Transportation. Cintra will pay a $2.1 billion upfront and annual lease payments totaling $700 million. "Cintra was awarded this project because of its proven expertise and competitive proposal," said Thomas O. Moore, partner with Bracewell & Giuliani. "This is the largest transportation deal of 2007. This is one of only five deals in the country."
Three firms have competed for the Comprehensive Development Agreement for State Highway 121 since last summer. The proposals were reviewed and scored based on selection criteria set forth by the Regional Transportation Council, the metropolitan planning agency for the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
This CDA is a public-private partnership that allows the provider to handle all facets of developing the toll road, including completing construction and operating and maintaining the corridor.
Cintra, a subsidiary of Grupo Ferrovial specialized in toll roads and car parks, is one of the world's leading private-sector developers of transport infrastructure.

TX governor Perry rapped for paving way for construction of Trans-Texas Corridor
One News Now | August 24, 2007 | Chad Groening
FR Posted on 08/25/2007 by Tolerance Sucks Rocks
Texas Governor Rick Perry is being called to task by an author and investigative journalist for vetoing bills that would have blocked construction of the controversial Trans-Texas Corridor--- which will be part of a superhighway -- purported to be four football fields wide -- that will allow Mexican trucks to enter the U.S. and traverse the core of the country all the way to Canada.
Governor Perry cleared the way for construction to begin in Texas when he vetoed several bills passed by the Legislature that would have stalled the project.
The Texas Legislature voted a two-year moratorium, and voted a redefinition of eminent domain -- Perry vetoed them. [On] at least one of those measures, he waited until the Texas Legislature was out of session so it couldn't even override his veto. The Federal Highway Administration's lawyer wrote letters threatening the Texas Legislature to cut off federal highway funds if they got in the way of this Trans-Texas Corridor.
NOTE Perry used eminent domain to take property from Texans to give to Cintra Concesiones de Infraestructuras de Transporte, S.A., a Spanish transportation company, in its successful bid to develop State Highway 121 into a toll road through Collin and Denton counties (the "trade road" is four football fields wide).
Approved by the Texas Transportation Commission, it is the first privatization of a Texas toll road. Bracewell & Giuliani LLP (Rudy Giuliani's Texas-based law firm with global connections) is acting as project counsel to Cintra with respect to the 50-year concession from the Texas Transportation Commission.
Oh no. I see those birds flocking in to drop their poop again. Watch out.
"But Perry is the only one who can win"
Perry-krishnas! That’s even better.
They want to remove everyone else before the primaries so Rick N Mitt can decide who gets to be at the top of the ticket.
RINOs last stand.
And the last poll had her at 8%!!!!
SOL, you just gave me a good belly laugh!
A+
” Obama is an alpha shemale.”
LOL!!
'Perrydactyls'
How naive. Everyone knows you're a shill for Hillary. ;-)
j/k
Now that is funny SOL!
Nonscene. I was clearly a paid Bustamente supporter because I refused to accept that an Austrian socialist named Ahnuld would "bring the businesses back" and "put California in play for the GOP" ;-)
