It is all part of the overall effort to stir up civil unrest all across the country. There have been many threads here on FR that have been documenting this stuff coming from all directions: unions, black youth mob wilding & knock-out attacks (in cities all over the country), the anarchists/communists organizing to occupy Wall St on 9/17 and DC on 10/6 (and a bunch of other cities), there are tons of it going on. Later today for example a bunch of anarchists/anti-capitalists are organizing to shut down BART in SF.
