[history]
We can't yet judge President Barack Obama's speech Thursday before a joint session of Congress. But it's not too early to render a judgment on the run-up to the address: It's been amateur hour in the West Wing.
Eight days ago, Mr. Obama announced he would address Congress on the same evening that a Republican presidential debate was scheduled. White House press secretary Jay Carney claimed it was merely a "coincidence." But his denial was soon undermined by comments to reporters by unnamed White House aides, who made it clear they intended to have the president drown out the GOP debate.

Looks like you have more of a problem with the messenger, than the message.

Same thing happens on threads where Boehner is the subject...the bashing starts almost immediately.
But if the message is good and will influence to the good...whether it's Rove or Boehner...why the incessant bashing?
To: Lazamataz
Some people suffer from knee-jerk reactions. I understand, but don’t “get it.”

Obama could fix the economy with six words: “I’m resigning and so is Joe.”

Because rove deserves no respect and boehner is a back stabbing, backroom deal making pos who occasionally does the right thing... but more often just screws over Conservatives and cries on cue.

I have the same reaction -- what you describe as a 'knee jerk' -- when encountering liberals or establishment Republicans.
Similar to the 'knee jerk' I might experience, in 1944, to a Japanese or a Nazi soldier.

Don't agree. Rove gets widespread attention in the WSJ.
He influences businesspeople who read it and is hammering Obama's garbage...good.
To: Lazamataz
Don’t go Godwin on me . . . I’ve followed Rove’s “fall from grace” with some amusement. Strange, how things work out.

Oh Good Lord. Now we are comparing Karl Rove to a Nazi? Come on.
To: 1rudeboy; Recovering_Democrat
Not comparing Rove to a Nazi. Comparing my reaction to Rinos and Liberals in a manner consistent with the hostility a soldier in 44 would react with when faced with the enemy.
