HOUSTON -- At the moment, Rick Perry's camp confirms the governor still plans to participate in Wednesday night's GOP debate in California.
The governor's campaign just released his schedule showing two events in California after the debate. It appears he will leave the wildfires to appear Wednesday night in California and will continue on with planned fundraisers Thursday and Friday. It appears his brief break from campaigning hasn't hurt.

Which fire are you close to?
What trashing of Palin?
Magnolia, TX—Montgomery, Waller, Grimes Counties. It is now 50% contained. There are several others close but not threatening me.
right, Palin will enter right after Santa Claus does.
Yes, indeed. What was I thinking? There has never been any trashing of Sarah Palin by any of the posters on this thread. Praise be unto Santo Ricardo.
We sit near a forest preserve in our area of Texas, and I've worried about the lack of controlled burns. The preserve is full of underbrush and cedar/juniper trees. The cedar trees go up like candles when fire hits them.
We've had only an inch of rain this summer, and vegetation is crisp and crunchy.
If there is as much as you claim, it would have been very easy to find one and point it out to me.
Why didn’t you? Instead you get snarky.
And that’s really supporting my original assertion of ‘What trashing of Palin?’
And thats really supporting my original assertion of What trashing of Palin?
That's not an assertion. It's a question. A rather dumb question at that.
By the way, it really is easy. If you were really curious instead of trying to waste my time, you'd have done it yourself and found exactly what I did when I took a look back.
Below are tsowellfan's posts, so feel free to highlight anything said against Palin herself. I could also post the replies from all the Palin supporters, but I think you wouldn't like to read the hate.

Most Perry supporters actually like Sarah Palin as a conservative leader. Unfortunately, like Paul supporters, many of her supporters (not all but many) are a turn=off. Many of them are actually responsible for chasing former Palin supporters off the field and into Perry's field.
-
It is interesting that many Palin supporters (not all but many)are a major turn-off to American voters and they have actually chased former Palin supporters off the field and into the Perry field.
-
Very interesting! And that's the attitude of her activists that will be going door to door on behalf of a Sarah Palin nominee. Wow! Very telling.
What a shame. Sarah Palin deserves MUCH better.
-
Perhaps the extreme ones that are always on the defensive on her behalf and even bash other Palin supporters that offer constructive criticism actually have less confidence in her than supporters like myself have in her. They like her very much and what she stands for (just as I do) but they also see incompetence in her (perhaps because she's woman) so they feel the need to coddle her and protect her from nay sayers and critics.
Yup, they feel she's incompetent while I have all the faith in the world that she would do well as President if only she could get there.
So, when I say she's making a mistake by waiting too long... I'm marked a anti-Palin.
The truth is, they feel she's helpless and incompetent while I feel she's more than strong enough to accept constructive criticism.
puhbama wouldn’t care if the whole state of Texas burnt to the ground. Perry should call him on this loudly, pointedly, and NOW! He should find a way to say it loud and clear on that debate stage tonight. I hope he does.
I just found out the fire close to me is now 85% contained. Most of the homes burned were in Waller County.
I’m none of the above..but I will criticise any candidate I want..even Gov Palin who is my first choice.
Its my sincere hope that whoever is the nomination proves they are in for the uphill battle we face in this country for the next decade plus..
I have not warmed up to Perry but would vote for him if he is the only choice. Then again I would vote for Howdy Doody over Obama. :)
Romney being the only exception.
I will not vote for Romney..period.
Sam, you’ve made it clear that you wish to supress Perry’s abundantly ugly record, and that exposing his record is somehow mean, hateful, nasty, and ugly.
Tell us, which Mediot outlet do you front for?
I know your routine, from 2008 when all you media guys puffed John McCain during the primaries, and then, once you had him installed as the GOP candidate, you unloaded everything to defeat him.
There is no question; you are going to do the same thing with Perry or Romney after you get one of them in, and that you will pull out all of the stops to be sure that it is one of them.
Of course, when the GOP candidate turns out to be Palin, against whom you have no ammo left, no october surprise e-mails or DUI convictions, or manufactured military service records, you’re going to have to sit back, purple-faced and apoplectic and watch her gracefully stroll into the White House, and start to put all of your friends in DC in orange playsuits.
Ok, now I aee the reason for yourcampaign of bilge!
You must have missed Romney’s implosion in NH?
He drew a huge crowd of 38 spectators to his address (not counting 50 or so Mediots) and the next day Palin had over 1000 waiting when she ascended the dais.
This is what has Perry looking for more fire in Texas, so that he can escape the Reagan Library debate.
When Palin finally gets around to telling everyone she isn’t running, are you going to jump off a bridge? Because when you emerge from you deep depression and get over your sense of betrayal, you will realize that we still need to remove that SOB Obama from office and you will need to get behind someone actually running to accomplish that.
Do I troll any threads looking for fights? No.
Do you and your fellow anti-Perry gnats troll Perry threads looking for fights? Yes.
Case closed.
(If you really felt good about your own candidate, you wouldn’t NEED to troll the Perry threads looking for fights. But I don’t think that’s a concept you and your fellow-gnats understand.)
All the bets at places like In-trade show this to be a two man race.
Even Bachmanns own campaign managers admit that this is now a two man race.
Everyone but a handful of deadenders here on FR knows that this is now a two man race.
So you can keep living in your fantasy world, or you can get behind one of these two, take your pick. I pick Rick Perry.
IOW,
Exposing Perry’s ugly record is “trolling the thread looking for a fight?”
Sorry, but it is every Freeper’s duty to expose this piece of trash, just as we did with Rooty.
You’re in dreamland.
This race is Palin’s to win or lose.
No big misjudgements in strategy and she wins.
