WASHINGTON (AP) The economy weak and the public seething, President Barack Obama is expected to propose $300 billion in tax cuts and federal spending Thursday night to get Americans working again. Republicans offered Tuesday to compromise with him on jobs but also assailed his plans in advance of his prime-time speech.

According to people familiar with the White House deliberations, two of the biggest measures in the president's proposals for 2012 are expected to be a one-year extension of a payroll tax cut for workers and an extension of expiring jobless benefits. We all know how successful extending unemployment benefits will be at creating jobs. (ducks)
So paying to keep people unemployed helps.. I’ll be damned.
And extending unemployment... Households with a 2nd substantial income really love this.
Throwing money at the problem will not fix it. Government needs to get out of the way all together. That’s the problem.
“Jump start.” LOL. That’s the ticket. Another shot of spending will work to jump start the economy into recovery. Why not a $5 trillion jump start? Just give every Dem district $100 million to spend on whatever the local pols want to spend it on? That should work under this theory.
“extension of expiring jobless benefits”
99 weeks to what? 1000?
If they make it a whole lot longer it will be better than a lot of pensions.
Just saying.
Boehner will pass $295 billion and will claim victory.
Epic Stimulus Fail 2.0
Great! /s
More tax cuts
more spending
more debt.
Yawn...good night.
Another effing UNEMPLOYMENT EXTENSION?!? For crying out loud, dumBO is a certified imbecile.
Quit stealing from my paycheck.
Yeah. Let’s just get it over with.
$4T in more debt should do it.

The definition of insanity...
What is $300 billion going to do that $785 billion couldn’t?
it’ll do the same, except only 40% as well I guess, lol.
For $300 billion we can have 600 more Solyandras.
