Three people were killed and two police officers were wounded in a shooting a few blocks from the annual West Indian Day Parade in Brooklyn, capping a violent holiday weekend in which nearly 70 people were injured by gunfire.
Updated statistics obtained by NBC New York on Tuesday show that at least 67 people were shot between 12 a.m. Friday and 11:59 p.m. Monday. That includes nine on Friday, 10 on Saturday, 33 on Sunday and 15 on Monday.
Preliminary numbers indicate as many as 10 were killed.
In the police-involved shooting Monday near the parade in Brooklyn, bullet fragments hit one police officer in the left arm and chest. He was hospitalized but was expected to survive. Another officer was grazed by a bullet.
One shooter in that Crown Heights melee was killed along with a bystander, 56-year-old Denise Gay, who was shot while sitting on a stoop with her daughter nearby just two doors down from the exchange of gunfire. Another shooter was in serious condition at the hospital.

The shootings started as an exchange between two armed men, and when officers who had been assigned to parade duties arrived at the scene, they were fired upon and returned fire, police said.

Earlier Monday, as revelers filled the streets in colorful costumes during the parade, separate gun violence brought the festivities to a stop in spots, scattering the panicked crowd. Police said four people were shot and wounded along the parade route and a 15-year-old boy was grazed by a bullet nearby.

The violent holiday weekend included a Sunday shooting in the Bronx in which eight people, including children, were wounded.
Four other people were shot in the East Flatbush section of Brooklyn early Monday, including a 17-year-old boy who died.

Well, now that New York’s mayor and governor have driven many of the productive class out of the city and state, what would we expect would happen with the mob left to fend for themselves. It’s a human version of the broken window theroy...remove the good and productive citizens from a city, and those citizens who remain eventually turn their homes into a no-man’s land of immorality, indency, and crime.
America’s most liberal cities are turning into what looks more like a scene from a Mad Max movie than the America our Founding Fathers envisioned.

Doesn’t New York, and especially New York City, have the most restrictive gun laws in the country?

Maybe the fascist runt Bloomberg can ban sugar in restaurants to annoy the criminals. New York City is the next Detroit.

The way facism always functions anyway,is it depicts some people as bad and undesirable and implies you can walk all over these people and you will get away with it.
It is literally about teaching people which of their neighbors they can target or assault and get away with.
At least some cops are allowed to shoot back at the criminals, until Bloomberg takes their guns away.

Actually what is happening is exactly what happens in housing projects all over the United States.
Detroit, Chicago, New York, New Orleans and St. Louis are all heavily loaded with housing projects. Being on the dole and not having to worry about working and supporting your family or household, is caused by the government give away programs. So why not solve all your problems by killing anyone who disses you.
When I see the people win a trip on Wheel of Fortune to NYC or Mexico, I always wonder if the all expense paid trips include multi-million dollar insurance policy, bullet proof vest and some type of automatic weapon.
Those gun control laws in New York REALLY WORK!
