CARSON CITY, NV - Carson City sheriff's deputies are investigating a shooting in the area of the IHop on South Carson Street.
Details are very sketchy, but initial reports indicate that more than one person has been shot on the 3800 block of Carson Street and a suspect is still in the area.
We have a crew on the way and we'll update this story as information becomes available.
No identity on the gunman yet. Some reports have it that he fired “randomly” on customers after shooting the man on the motorcycle outside. That doesn’t sound like a jealous boyfriend gunning for a waitress.
I’d like to know more about him, starting with his name.

- 2 In Uniform Military (probably Air Guard) shot dead inside iHop. Because of this FBI and military personnel called in.

Fox reporting two of the victims were members of the National Guard.
I would say it's an example of someone who acts before they think.

That's why it wasn't a death penalty case, even though I have no doubt it was premeditated.
Fox is saying some of the dead are national guardsmen.

A third person was killed in addition to the servicemembers, and the gunman was not expected to survive, said Carson City Sheriff Kenny Furlong.
It wasn’t immediately clear whether the gunman had any connection with the military or the guard, said Nevada National Guard Sgt. Mike Getten. He said guard members were meeting at the restaurant.
If his first name were Kirby, Sven, Werner or some other typically Anglo-Saxon variant, the lamestream media would have provided that information in seconds.
[Updated at 2:18 p.m.] At least two of the victims killed at a shooting in a Carson City, Nevada, IHOP restaurant were military members who were wearing their uniforms, Chuck Allen with the Nevada Highway Patrol said Tuesday.
Allen said police were still looking to find the shooter’s possible motive but said regardless officials were taking precautions in case military personnel were being targeted.
“When you have people in uniform randomly targeted ... we take that seriously,” Allen said.

In Tennessee, you can get a carry permit. Several restaurants in Knoxville posted a no weapons allowed sign in retaliation (please, don’t get me started). I wonder if that particular IHOP has a no weapons policy? If this is the case, then all I have to say is, “Hey, IHOP, the only people who follow your stupid no weapons allowed rules are the law abiding types and they aren’t the ones you have to worry about”! If this isn’t the case, I take it all back.
My post was to point at the IN UNIFORM — TARGET ON THEIR BACKS problem.
Unionized LEO would never go anywhere unarmed, but any aspect of the military gets the target and bulls eye mentality.
