Despite Rick Perry's last-minute decision to bow out of Sen. Jim DeMint's First Principles Forum, he still got a boost here Monday with the endorsement of freshman South Carolina Rep. Mick Mulvaney.
Mulvaney, a member of the House Budget Committee and the Joint Economic Committee, said at the close of the forum that he is joining Perry's campaign as an economic adviser, effectively immediately - even though he backed Mitt Romney in the last presidential race.
But what moved Mulvaney into Perry's camp was the candidate's request for his ideas. Mulvaney said Perry liked what Mulvaney and his House colleagues Jason Chaffetz of Utah and Reid Ribble of Wisconsin put forth with their "cut, cap and balance" plan, and Perry wanted Mulvaney's input as he crafts an economic plan.

LOL!
Muveney is one of the authors of “cut, cap, and balance”, but that doesn’t count for anything. ;)

Mick is MY congressman,he came in with the Tea Party tsunami of 2010 and unseated our seemingly forever Dem rep John Spratt—who had had the seat since 1982 but then he helped spearhead Obamacare and kept kissing Pelosi’s wrinkled old toocus so he had to go!
Mick is a good conservative and I like him—but it goes without saying he is going to hear from me and many of us about pulling a boneheaded stunt like this!

The statists believe in a powerful, activist central government that advances a radical secular agenda in the name of compassion. They hide behind misguided notions of empathy and push token talking points about fighting for the little guy, all the while empowering the federal government to coercively and blatantly undermine state, local, and self-governance. pg. 320
The truth is, I dont care what party the statist is in. The fact of the matter is, it is the statist, and those who support or enable him, who is the problem. For too long he has undermined this country by empowering the national government at the expense of liberty. An America defined by the statist in Washington is an America doomed to fail. pg. 338
(both quotes from Perry, Rick; (2010-11-15). Fed Up!: Our Fight to Save America from Washington.
Doesn't sound much like a RINO to me!

I watched Governor Perry this morning at the town hall hosted by Representative Tim Scott (R-SC) and liked most of what I heard except that there was no statement on immigration. Even though he is an open borders supporter, if he gets the nod from the GOP, he has my vote. Of course Sarah gets my vote and money if she declares!
