No idea on her plans.

As for establishment vs. TEA party, think of it this way. The GOP/RINO/Beltway will never willingly go Conservative. Ever. That leaves Conservatives with a couple options.

1. We can just pack it in, admit defeat and go gently into the good night or...

2. Not.

It comes down to if you are willing to fight for what you believe in or if you are willing to abandon your beliefs. Thats the very real choice that conservatives have to make because there ARE NO OTHER OPTIONS HERE.

The current field is mostly old guard/entrenched Pols. Palin and Cain are it for the conservatives because Bachmann is conservative but has a RINO running her campaign. You say she has no chance etc. You know that how? The MSM and Washington crowd telling you that? Must be because that’s where all that crap comes from. You are buying into the same garbage that got us McCain as a nominee.

You can choose to say Hell no! and take the chance you will lose or give in to the system. Considering that we have a history in America of people fighting and dying for what they believe in (from the military to the Civil rights era and more) I really don’t think it’s too God awful much to ask by comparison to simply go and cast your vote for it.

We are 14 months out from an election. Reagan was in a pretty ‘long shot’ position himself. Read the above a couple times and let it sink in. Then vote according to what you believe in. That’s all any of us can do really.

"Who gave you the black eye?" In that great no-nonsense straight-forward way, he says:
"Nobody gave it to me, son. I fought for it."

Great line! Just added to Netflix Queue. ";^)

Thank you for the list
I wanted to get on the record that I watched “The Undefeated” tonight and for the last couple of weeks I have been saying if Sarah didn’t run, I could live with Perry, and wouldn’t be too disappointed. NO MORE. I want Sarah to run, and I want Sarah to win, and I will not settle for second best.
After listening to the speech from Saturday, I am convinced she is running. She is going to run an extraordinary campaign, and it will be run on her terms, and what the media says will have no bearing on it. She is the first candidate that I have seen since Reagan that has the ability to go over the media to the people.
When you watch the movie, and you see all the vitriol, and hate directed at this woman, it will make you physically sick. These people are sick, and I for one will not listen do another derogatory comment made about the only elected official I have seen in years who is truly fighting for us, all Americans, and not for personal gain.
I will work for whatever candidate is there to remove the stain that currently occupies the White House, but I have been and will double my efforts, starting tomorrow, to make sure it’s Sarah Palin.
As the manager in the movie “Major League” said “Let’s go out there, and feed them all a big $hit Sandwich!”.
It would be so much fun to watch all those sick, useless pigs at the beginning of that movie have to live with and accept a Palin Presidency, and even more fun to watch her win with a huge majority, long coattails, and the popularity she enjoyed in AK. I would grin for 8 years!

I love to tweak socialists and fascists by commenting “That Rush Limbaugh/Rick Santelli is just too liberal for me.”

Of course, the deluded dupes think they’re “liberal” due to the misuse of the English language. Until 1964-1965, for 100+ years the Republican were the civil rights Party. LBJ, by the use of billions of “Great Society” taxpayer “free” money, bought the change in the English language.

We are legion!

...well, ok, there are many of us. A huge bus was rented from DFW to Iowa for Sarah’s big speech. Mark America is from Texas, and there are many more on FR alone.

First, some background, I volunteered for Rick Perry during his first statewide election in 1990. I pushed voter information cards in Beaumont and Houston.

Second, my personal take is Perry has been an above average governor (just like 24 other sitting governors). He’s OK

He is not a conservative. Sure, many of his positions - eventually - are conservative, and I attribute that to knowing his base. He’s not Mitt Romney, he’s no flip-flopper, but there are several issues where his knee-jerk reaction is another big government program or mandate. Then, when his base pitches a fit, he finds out what conservatives think, and that’s his new position. Once there, he won’t budge.

He’s not a movement conservative and he doesn’t really get or subscribe to the conservative philosophy - at least it doesn’t guide him. He’s smart though, and he knows conservatives are the ones that brought him, so he doesn’t cross them.

One of the best examples was when a bill in the Texas legislature was proposed to re-assert Texas’ rights under the 10th amendment. Perry spoke at the media conference and could not explain the purpose of the bill, why it was important, or what the significance of the law was to liberty and federalism. When his floundering was painfully obvious, he passed the mic to the bill’s author.

His record is one of maintaining the status quo. During his tenure, the number of state employees grew by 15%. That’s actually pretty good when you consider the population growth (20% over same time period), but there were no cuts. He’s never eliminated a program, agency, or government jobs.

If you’re fine with Obamacare and the status quo in DC of trillion dollar deficits, Perry is good. He’ll probably even scale back the growth to the rate during the Bush years.

On the other hand, if you want the size of the Federal government to be reduced - actual real cuts, not just cuts in growth - you need a reformer who has a history of reducing the size of government in real life.

There are only two governors (running/likely to run) who ever reduced government, Gary Johnson and Sarah Palin.

Gary Johnson’s foreign policy and some other issues (right to life, etc.) are non-starters for me.

Just saw CONAGHER and it’s GREAT!!!

Love the “message-in-a-bottle” prairie-style with notes tied to tumble weeds!

Golly, the HONOR displayed in that story just blows me away.

Isn’t it a great movie! I just love everything about it — the values, the honor, the love story, and Katherine Ross is simply magnificent (you know she’s Sam Elliott’s wife in real life!). My husband and I watch that movie often.

The Quick and the Dead is another favorite -- "You're a fine lookin' woman, Mrs. McKaskel." Just LOVE that flick.

As for Lifeguard ... Sam Elliot driving a Corvette barefoot! That movie is so horrible that it's good. It is such a horrifically accurate chronicle in every way of the Bad 70s, from the terrible free-love values (their early days), to the saccharine soundtrack, to the gawd-awful wallpaper in Ann Archer's kitchen. One of the reasons I ... well, "enjoy" isn't exactly the word, maybe "appreciate" or "respect" is a better way of putting it ... that movie is because it is SO accurate in its portrayal of the So Cal beach lifestyle and moral abandon at that time.

I knew guys just like Rick the Lifeguard -- I swear, his apartment was a dead ringer for those of a couple of guys I knew -- when I was a wild young thang living the beach life in the mid 70s. Praise God most of us survived that frightening era intact. It was truly the apex of Bad Everything.

Just looked up Sam Elliot on IMDB —
Did you know he wrote the script for Conagher?

No!! Didn’t know that! That’s VERY cool! I can’t wait to tell my Sweetz (we’re both Sam Elliott fans). That line, “Nobody gave it to me, son. I fought for it” just sounded so much like his whole persona, though! That is neat to know.

Also, FWIW, Katherine Ross is actually four years older than her sweetie, Sam!

It says he wrote the screenplay — I wonder if he wrote that great line or if it’s in the original Louis L’amour book?

Was glad the line was right at the beginning. Told my sweetie, “That’s why I rented the movie!”
We both really like Elliot. That VOICE!!!

Yeah. Lifeguard is bad. And you're right. It IS a time capsule of life.

"Did you get a plant"?

"Yeah. In the corner. It's a maneater."

"It's PLASTIC!"

LOL
