The Rick Perry - ACORN connection explained: A primer for non-Texans
EnterStageRight ^ | Sept. 5, 2011 | Linda Prussen-Razzano

In 2005, the Texas State Legislature passed HB 1823, which allowed people with a Contract for Deed to refinance their mortgage and convert the Contract for Deed to a Deed of Trust. They were then able to get out from under the terms of the contract, transfer title to their name, and assume full responsibility for their property and their lives. There were a number of steps homeowners had to take to comply with the law, and they were obviously responsible to pay the mortgage, but it gave homeowners greater power over their property.

ACORN, which supported HB 1823, praised the Legislature and Governor Perry for passing it.

So when folks go around bashing Governor Perry for signing these bills just because ACORN supported one of them, it tells me they are all hat, no cattle, and a person to be pitied. They are obviously not a Texan.

This explains why she has not entered the race much better:

She's not running for President because it would cut into her half-marathon participation? :-)

I'm betting that when she makes her decision, being able to run in local races will NOT be a factor.

Have you ever patrolled the border your self Linus?

Same kind of loaded question that those who have an opinion concerning a military issue and have served and then try to say anyone who hasn't serve can't have the answer to the problem.

This isn't a problem requiring calculus, simple math will do, and somebody in charge that actually wants to STOP the Illegal Immigration.

All of Perry's words and actions say the exact opposite, in fact, he'd like to do away with the border, don't you know.

On your tagline, do you know where the “polls are for strippers and cross-country skiers” came from originally? It’s interesting to trace it back.

It was a big deal in the spring, when it was used in response to a really bad poll for Obama. But that wasn’t nearly the first time it had been used.

Just a fun thing to track down.

Hell, even Palin herself said she’s support whoever wins the nom, including Romney. Of course, that’s where she and I part ways. I don’t believe ‘Anyone but Obama’ is a winning strategy.

I thought you were a border state expert?

You can check out Obama’s lawsuit against AZ or the great effects the legislation she passed has already had on getting the illegals out of AZ for yourself.

Until you do you should probably stop writing on the subject to save yourself further embarrassment.

Sorry I should have been more clear that I agree the law was probably needed and that’s a good point about insurance companies in general.

You do know that a lot of those 38% hispanic are actually United States citizens, and that Texas had a large hispanic population from the time it joined the union, right?

Texas is where all the jobs are. The percentage of the texas population that is illegal did not increase; they also got a lot more legal residents.

Of course, they are also a border state in a year in which Obama stopped policing the border and deporting the illegals. But mostly, they have jobs when other states don’t.

From that article:

....

Thank you for signing the checks! You helped Dr. Steve Hotze fulfill his fundraising promise to Governor Perry.

We raised $43,000 of the $205,000 Steve Hotze handed him last night.

In years past I have presented the Governor honorary awards for Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse, for TLR, and for The Justice Foundation. However, it was the latest legislative session that gave Dr. Steve Hotze and me the best opportunity to convince Governor Perry that business owners, the economic engines that drive our economy, are overwhelmingly opposed to Arizona-style legislation. Republican Representatives and Senators, many of them our close friends, filed 108 Arizona-style bills! With the Texas legislature overwhelmingly Republican controlled, most were expected to pass.

Just further damning proof of the Rick "Crony Capitalist" Perry's being tainted by Big Money donations from less than savory players in the Illegal Immigration game.

Yep, Perry should watch the tapes of Acorn from 2009, and jump in his time machine, go back to 2005, and tell himself that ACORN will be shown to be a bad group so he should oppose a law that the entire legislature just supported because ACORN liked it.

Now, we just need to get to work on that time machine.

I havent lived in Az since 97, but I know Brewer cant shut down the Tohono O’dham Corridor without cordoning off huge swaths of Az citizens property outside of Tucson
