Kicking Rick ( Perry ). Mainstream media and Democrats fear the Texas governor, so they smear him
Pittsburgh Post Gazette ^ | Sept 4, 2011 | Jack Kelly

Posted on 09/03/2011 10:00:12 PM PDT by Clairity

GOP consultant Mark McKinnon says that the editor of a major newspaper told him, "We plan to declare war on Rick Perry and do all in our power to crush him."

Mr. McKinnon was outraged. "No pretense of integrity, professionalism or of unbiased news gathering," he wrote in Investors' Business Daily.

But I doubt he was surprised. This is what the "mainstream" media did to Sarah Palin in 2008, and what likely is in store for anyone Republicans nominate.

But liberals will go after the Texas governor with special venom because he is anti- intellectual, prays in public, takes the Constitution seriously and sometimes carries a handgun, Walter Shapiro wrote in The New Republic.

"It's almost as if Perry's political persona was constructed by bundling together all the fears and phantoms in the left-wing anxiety closet." he said.

They don’t answer.... they just go to another thread and fling poo (like someone said earlier) about Perry.

caww is posting the same story about Bahrain, a U.S. ally, investing in a publically traded Austin internet security company on other threads. Apparently, Perry is *GASP* friends with the CEO.

I think in caww’s world that makes Perry a member of Al-Qaeda.

Why, just last year Palin endorsed and campaigned for McAmnesty - you know, the guy who visited with Gadaffi in February of this year? I am not sure what caww thinks of this?

I really like and respect Palin but the attacks on Perry by her “supporters” are becoming more absurd every day.

Conservative hell, the man voted for algore, the only reason he is a republican is because he could no longer win as a democrap. Perry is the Texas Arlin Specter.

Why did Palin endorse and campaign for McAmnesty last year? She begged the crowd to send the “maverick” back to D.C.

Perhaps you will answer.... the others won’t.

I just want to know. Seriously. The standard we are applying to Perry is guilt by association. Perry endorsed Gore in 1988 when both were democrats. Did you know that is longer ago than the time it took for Ronaldus Magnus to become the GOP nominee after switching from the democrat party? Just a silly bit of trivia there for you.

So, again, why did Palin endorse and campaign for McCain just last year?

I’ll stand with Palin. She stood with Perry. You can stand with DU and Kos.

Palin in many ways is a moderate, and said she would support mccain position on amnesty. McCain and she lost.

“Aw, man! He likes puppies? I’m voting for him.”

Not only that, but he jogs with a gun and when a coyote attacked his dog, he killed the coyote with one shot.

He is an ardent supporter of the 2nd Amendment — in addition to his other good qualities, such as promising limited Federal government and repeal of Obamacare.

AND he likes puppies. ;)

Perry is handling the heat about 100x better than Sarah did in 2008/2009. Sarah folded up like a cheap rug when they came after her.

Gosh-a-mighty - another DNC Talking Points plant. Either that or a truly ignorant individual. How does someone who "folded like a wet rag" command so much attention and keep the MSM and Left in such a dither? Do you even know the rationale for her resigning the Governorship or why it turned out to be exactly right for Alaska? You must be a Lefty because you think that everyone will listen to lies and repeat them as the truth - you're playing with more adults than you ever met in your life here - don't giggle so hard you wet your undies when you make your posts - they ain't doing what you hope for.

Any conservative is going to get blasted no matter who is in the lead, Palin, Bachmann, Perry, Paul, etc. Only Romney seems to be the darling of the MSM.

GeronL: "Some FReeper actually use the excuse that Al Gore was a "conservative" back then. lol. Which is the most ludicrous thing I have ever heard" -------------------------

From WayBackWhen Archives - http://web.archive.org/web/20081218155116/http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2000/democracy/gore/stories/gore/index2.html

"Gore's approach was that there needed to be a new approach for the Democratic Party, one that was more from the center, reflecting more the party's historic base in the South," says former White House press secretary Mike McCurry."

"Running as a Southern centrist, Gore opposed federal funding for abortion. He favored a moment of silence for prayer in the schools and voted against banning the interstate sale of handguns."

Rick Perry said "I love George Bush", thinks he was a great President, and insists there's absolutely no bad blood between them.

Is he lying?

Rick Perry won’t answer this, will they? They can’t.

Option 1) He didn’t mean it. Then he’s just a smooth-talking pandering politician who says anything to suck up to the powers that be.

Option 2) He did mean it. Then all their claims about how Perry is "more conservative" than GWB and "the Bush family hates him" is just spin to get conservatives to support Perry, and has been debunked by their OWN candidate.

Option 3) They think it never happenned. The video was doctored. Which makes them Paul’s folly.

Given their fantasies about how Al Gore was a "pro-life conservative Democrat" in 1988, I am leaning towards Option 3. :)

He’s a former US Marine, BTW!

Once a Marine, always a Marine. Unless that is you were kicked out. On the other hand Rep. Jack Murtha is now a former Marine but he is tango uniform and that doesn't break my heart.

Be very careful what you use as qualifiers. I honestly wish everyone would hold their powder until the field is set before jumping on the "American Idol" choosing of battle lines. Now is the time for introspection of what conservatism is supposed to mean in a constitutional sense and not the star power one tries to bring to the game.

They all have a certain amount of star power we must separate from the wheat. Lets work on that first and tell the likes of the ruling elites to shove it. Its our choice to make, not theirs.

When Rick Perry Praised HillaryCare (1993)

From the fake Tea Partys such as the one
which attacked Gov. Palin from Texas
created by RINO Romney and Hudack (and Perry?)

to the FAKE polls in Texas "informing" Gov Palin not to run
created by PerryBOTs (and Romney?)
to the rumor-fomenting Sullivans in S.C.both in bed
with RINO Romney and RINO Perry
to the anti-Gov Palin rumors from PerryBOT Ken Crow in Iowa Lying that
Gov Palin would not Run for President
(Perry and Romney?)

it is clear conservatives and America are in peril
from the backstabbing, politically crossdressing
RINOs Perry and Romney
who indeed appear to be two Rovian puppets
reeking of misogyny and dirty tricks.

The Hobbit reference yesterday was her way of saying she has the invoice stamped “Paid In Full” and won’t be shopping there any longer.

One note songs don’t add anything to the music. Add another note and you will sound less like the Emergency Broadcast Warning System, and more like another annoying European siren.

Perhaps had she stayed on the job long enough there would actually be more of her policy positions to dissect.

Like delivering on ALL of her campaign promises before she resigned? Nevermind the fact she resigned because the bogus lawsuits were bankrupting her and keeping her from accomplishing more than she promised?

Shirley you jest!

I say wee look at all the candidates but we also must be honestly aware of who the opposition fears the most by who they attack the most. That is the first sign of who can best beat their flag bearer and not what some contrived poll says it is.

Polls; Stippers and cross country skiers use polls. To paraphrase the best line in her presentation yesterday.

He shouldn't be immune to legitimate criticism. It's the dirt, the lies, the innuendo, the half-truth, the out-of-context, as practiced so well by some on this very thread. [I do not refer to you, G.]
