Kicking Rick ( Perry ). Mainstream media and Democrats fear the Texas governor, so they smear him
Pittsburgh Post Gazette ^ | Sept 4, 2011 | Jack Kelly

Posted on 09/03/2011 10:00:12 PM PDT by Clairity

GOP consultant Mark McKinnon says that the editor of a major newspaper told him, "We plan to declare war on Rick Perry and do all in our power to crush him."

Mr. McKinnon was outraged. "No pretense of integrity, professionalism or of unbiased news gathering," he wrote in Investors' Business Daily.

But I doubt he was surprised. This is what the "mainstream" media did to Sarah Palin in 2008, and what likely is in store for anyone Republicans nominate.

But liberals will go after the Texas governor with special venom because he is anti- intellectual, prays in public, takes the Constitution seriously and sometimes carries a handgun, Walter Shapiro wrote in The New Republic.

"It's almost as if Perry's political persona was constructed by bundling together all the fears and phantoms in the left-wing anxiety closet." he said.

That would be Ron Paul. Sorry - expected it to be clearer.

“Some of the posts and images (like the one of Perry as the devil) on here recently could just as easily have come from the DUmp or from the Kos Kiddies.”

Well yeah, that’s exactly where this stuff is coming from. Those are where these talking point originate. No surprise really. Where else are these ‘conservatives’ going to find like-minded bashers?

I absoloutely agree with all you have said.

The picture of Perry as the devil was one of the most despicable things I have ever seen on this site - and it was not removed.

I may just have to leave this site before her fanatic supporters turn me against her with all their vitriol against Perry.

I like Palin, but some of her supporters are becoming as vile and dishonest as the dems who treated Sarah so viciously.

Sad to see - Sarah deserves better from her supporters.

I would bet you a million dollars that if Palin is not the nominee, she will campaign for Perry and campaign hard. What are you going to say then?
Of course she would. He is a mainstream conservative candidate with more executive experience than anyone to run for the office since Ronald Reagan.

I have no problem with people criticizing or disliking Perry. There are positions he has taken that I don’t like either, but the slanderers on here (and they are easy to spot), are not helping the conservative cause at all.

Well said. I have had enough though....

The same logic should apply to all... evenly across the board. These distorted assaults on Perry’s record are something I would expect to see on CNN or MSNBC - not free republic.

Pulling out crap like a letter from 1993 or helping Gore when Perry was a Texas Blue Dog while ignoring Palin’s respect for Hillary fails by their own reasoning.

Kicking Perry for his policies towards illegals while ignoring her endorsement and campaigning for McAmnesty just last year fails their own purity test.

These “conservatives” would spit on Reagan if he announced tomorrow. That is a fact arrived at by logical reasoning using their own logic for spitting on Perry.

I hope the adults retake control of the board soon.
This has always been THE place to come for serious analysis and debate with a conservative point of view.

Some of the posts and images (like the one of Perry as the devil) on here recently could just as easily have come from the DUmp or from the Kos Kiddies.

It is a real shame. My fear is that if the level of discourse continues to decline, that we are going to drive off some of our very best contributors.

Amen.

Perry’s big on Middle Eastern Investors.....but then he’s a globalist and they have the cash cow he wants.....but there is a price for what he’s doing with the huge infiltration of Muslims there and fast growing....he’s helping it grow.

Many Texans have gotten wise to this and that’s exactly why he had to fight so in this last election.....they’re on to him bit by bit.

But to think he’d even allow Middle Easterns to have that strong of hold on a Indenty/Security company with cutting edge no less....should wake up a few of his supporters to rethink what he would do nationwide.

Perry wants powers to the states because he’s got such a scam going on there he wants no oversight on what he does. He can get away with it because his population on a whole hasn’t the educational levels to even suspect the plays he’s making.

Globalists want cheap labor.....Perry affords that.

Perhaps had she stayed on the job long enough there would actually be more of her policy positions to dissect.

I know you don't want me to begin dissecting Perry. Since I have only touched on one of his malfeasances, thus far. There are many more. But I do like to dissect his muslim connections. Perry should do the right thing, and dump his cowboy boots, for some desert sandals.

Please, enlighten us with your wisdom. Please start by answering #58 since GeronL and tempest won’t.

I am waiting.......

Why did Palin endorse McCain and campaign for him last year? I suppose she endorses McCain’s love affair with muslims too?

Guilt by association.... we should apply it evenly.

Oh really? What the F would you know about Texans? You meet a lot of us up there in the north east, do you?

“He can get away with it because his population on a whole hasn’t the educational levels to even suspect the plays he’s making.”

Oh never mind. How’s that elitism working out for you from the home of Arlen Spector and Fast Eddie? Yeah - we’re the stupid ones.

You don’t here much about Perry here in the upper midwest, but if he’s not taking any crap from the media, and appears to be a straight shooter, I’ll take voting for him ito cosideration. I would like to hear what Texans think of him first.

Met you on the boards before...same ol’ pattern of name calling and no substance.

Just so you are informed....many people have the distinct pleasure and freedom to move to any state of their choosing from another....it goes with the freedom of being an American and living in this great land. But they never forget their roots and most remain connected there. Some in fact establish homes in more places than one.

All their members identity in the hands of muslims. Well, it might wake up all their members who provided all their secure docs to this corp. I don't understand people who do that anyway. I mean, protect yourself. If you give all your identity docs to some corp to "protect" you, isn't that like giving it to the TSA? Come on people. The people you entrusted to "protect" you are sharing your info with muslims, for a fortune, of course.

Let me get this right. You say Texans are too stupid to understand about our governor and then you cry about name calling.

Then you’ve “moved” so, you’re from Texas now is that it?

But what? You had to get out because we’re all too stupid to see we have a ‘globalist’ governor. I’m glad the door didn’t hit you on your way to the wonderful enlightened north east. Y’all come back now, ya hear.

CSIdentity is a publically traded company in Austin Texas that deals with internet security. It is not a governmental entity and anyone, including Bahrain - a U.S. ally, can invest in them.

So, just making sure that I understand....

Perry is friends with the CEO of one of the top rated companies in Austin, Texas, CSIdentity. Because Bahrain invested 35 million dollars in this innovative publically traded company you are accusing him of being a muslim sympathizer?

Are you aware that we have had a U.S. naval base in Bahrain since 1947? Are you aware that the United States has a free-trade agreement with Bahrain as well as a Defense Cooperation Agreement?

Your effort to smear Perry with this fails.

One last thing while you’re teaching me stuff about Texas.
Here’s what Sarah said about Perry in the last election:
“While a bunch of politicians have gone to Washington, hat in hand, seeking a bailout, Governor Perry has said we should stimulate the economy with tax cuts and maintain spending discipline,” Palin said. “Rick Perry is true to conservative principles even when others think the party needs to go a different direction. I like that about him: he doesn’t care which way the wind blows, he acts on his beliefs.”

Is she too stupid to understand things too? Do you just know better than she?
Did she lie? Is her endorsement for sale?
Are you making her proud?

I have known about Aga Khan for 5 decades. If there ever was a “moderate” muslim, he fits the mold. You will not find him strapping bombs on a suicide mission.
