Kicking Rick ( Perry ). Mainstream media and Democrats fear the Texas governor, so they smear him
Pittsburgh Post Gazette ^ | Sept 4, 2011 | Jack Kelly

Posted on 09/03/2011 10:00:12 PM PDT by Clairity

GOP consultant Mark McKinnon says that the editor of a major newspaper told him, "We plan to declare war on Rick Perry and do all in our power to crush him."

Mr. McKinnon was outraged. "No pretense of integrity, professionalism or of unbiased news gathering," he wrote in Investors' Business Daily.

But I doubt he was surprised. This is what the "mainstream" media did to Sarah Palin in 2008, and what likely is in store for anyone Republicans nominate.

But liberals will go after the Texas governor with special venom because he is anti- intellectual, prays in public, takes the Constitution seriously and sometimes carries a handgun, Walter Shapiro wrote in The New Republic.

"It's almost as if Perry's political persona was constructed by bundling together all the fears and phantoms in the left-wing anxiety closet." he said.

Talk about impressive! You’ve regurgitated the days talking points verbatim!

Don’t be a parrot. Be a true conservative and think for yourself!

hehe, apparently my posts have YOU all worked up and bothered.

You are actually proud that you have ticked off a fellow conservative FReeper on the forum?

Who exactly is the enemy here?

Why are you behaving like this?

he has never QUIT in the middle of anything

Of course, he would rather bankrupt the state than quit being in office. It's the most important thing to him. Heck, we're still paying $10,000 a month for his rented mansion aren't we??

So how did he get from an algore advance man to the Republican Party?

Some FReeper actually use the excuse that Al Gore was a "conservative" back then. lol. Which is the most ludicrous thing I have ever heard. He might have taken certain less lefty positions on a few issues (very few, and ones the Prez had no real input on) to make him different than other Dem primary candidates but he never had any intention of voting that way. Perry still defends his support of Gore. Can you believe that? He used SDI for a reason, although Al Gore had begun to oppose SDI before he kicked off that campaign. So even the excuse makes no sense. So did Perry quit the Democrat Party?? I don't know, they say he never quit anything, right? The Pay to Play Crony Capitalist Slick Rick Perry s not a conservative.

They won’t answer this, will they? They can’t.

Option 1) She didn’t mean it. Then she’s just for sale.
Option 2) She did mean it. Then they are just a pack of braying donkees who don’t trust their own candidate’s judgement.
Option 3) They think it never happenned. The video was doctorred. Which makes them Paul’s folly.

Their actions suggest that they don't think their candidate is capable of taking on Perry directly. Several on here apparently feel they need to resort to childish insults and half-truths to try to knock him down for her.

I have a feeling that if Sarah read some of the crap that is being posted on here (supposedly) in support of her, she would be ashamed.

Sarah has muslim pals too? Sarah also introduced a curriculum in Alaska’s public schools to teach children how great muslims are? I don’t think so. But Perry did.

Perry is on the wrong side of this war. Perry is destroying the Texas heritage by befriending a billionaire muslim like “His Highness” Aga Khan (that’s how his fellow muslims refer to him), who supports the Perry campaign financially, and, they visit together often for fireside chats.

We are fighting for our existence here, against muslims whose stated goal is to rule America with their perverted sharia law. Meantime, your fav has one of them as his fav.

“Houston, we have a problem.”

I would bet you a million dollars that if Palin is not the nominee, she will campaign for Perry and campaign hard. What are you going to say then?

Of course she would. He is a mainstream conservative candidate with more executive experience than anyone to run for the office since Ronald Reagan.

I have no problem with people criticizing or disliking Perry. There are positions he has taken that I don't like either, but the slanderers on here (and they are easy to spot), are not helping the conservative cause at all.

Some may have deluded themselves into believing they are somehow helping Sarah with all this non-sense.

My guess is others are merely disruptors from the left who are taking great joy in seeing us at each other's throats.

I wonder which one is Moby?

After reading most of it's posts I have come to the conclusion the poster is simply a troll. I don't think it's really a Palin supporter either.

Sarah is a straight forward, honest, brave woman. She’d be absolutely ashamed at the actions of these bozos. They disgrace her and are driving people away. Somehow they’ve gotten detached from any sence of honor. They throw this trash around like monkeys flinging poo that they know is false. To what end? Are they idiots or just trolls? Poor Sarah - she truly deserves better.

I cannot even believe that I have to remember that made up 'alpha male' and that manly photo shoot done to improve his poll numbers... What I would like to know is if, and how often Perry and algore keep in communication?

Perhaps had she stayed on the job long enough there would actually be more of her policy positions to dissect.

“Which makes them Paul’s folly.”

What does that mean? Does it have something to do with Ron Paul? Or St. Paul?

So..... Palin campaigned with McAmnesty as #2 and has said a thousand nice things about him.

Palin always threw out respect for Hillary Clinton and Geraldine Ferraro.

Using the same logic that you and tempest display.... she is not a conservative.

See what I did there? This has become ridiculous. Your Palin point man who won’t answer questions pulled out a 1993 letter today from Perry to Hillary on health care. Pathetic.

I love Palin but shame on you. You are so blinded by one candidate that you spew venom for another candidate who is light years better than what we had just a month ago.

I don’t know what Palin will do and neither do you but again... answer the question tempest refuses and use the same reasoning and logic you apply to every Perry thread.

Did Palin endorse Perry and call him conservative?

Did Palin endorse McCain?

March 26th of last year.... excerpted from CBS news -

Sarah Palin and John McCain appeared together on the campaign trail for the first time since the 2008 presidential campaign, with Palin traveling to Arizona to help McCain defend himself against a challenge from the right in the state’s Republican Senate primary.

“Arizona, would you send the maverick back to the United States Senate?” said Palin, who was greeted with massive applause — seemingly more than the man who she had come to support.

http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-20001289-503544.html

Please defend this....... please. What does this say about her judgment using the mythical conservative purists standard you criticize Perry with for his support of Al Gore (when Perry was a southern blue dog democrat - longer than Reagans swap of parties by the way). What does this say about her judgement since it was a year ago compared to a letter that Perry wrote representing his constituency in 1993?

Answers?

I hope the adults retake control of the board soon.

This has always been THE place to come for serious analysis and debate with a conservative point of view.

Some of the posts and images (like the one of Perry as the devil) on here recently could just as easily have come from the DUmp or from the Kos Kiddies.

It is a real shame. My fear is that if the level of discourse continues to decline, that we are going to drive off some of our very best contributors.
