It's going to be about JOBS and that's what is going to make the difference.

Regarding border security -- most of the MSM articles only quoted the beginning of Perry reply, trying to turn conservatives against him, by making him sounds as if he were against border security, when in fact the truth is that he wants to secure the border, but the fence over a large uninhabited areas is not effective. He wants people to enforce the border. He asked Obama for thousands of National Guard troops, which Obama ignored.

Here is what he has done to secure the border, as governor.

Rick Perry position and actions on border security

"Border security is a federal responsibility but a Texas problem, and Texas has invested hundreds of millions of state dollars in efforts to support and supplement security forces already in place. Still, this is a problem that will only be solved with more federal accountability and involvement."

Contrast, let's see, they both are friends of algore and voted for him, they both support amnesty, they both like big government, one supports open borders, one maybe does, oh, I know the contrast, one is a shade whiter. That be it.

Even Israel, which many hold up as a model of success, has no fence protecting large portions of its border with Jordan. I have been there and there is nothing but open land between the two countries in a great many places.

Fences in strategic areas makes sense. Fences everywhere along our border with Mexico is impractical.

It would cost billions of dollars and accomplish almost nothing in terms of solving illegal immigration.

In that regard, it would be similar to the types of programs Democrats have been foisting on us for years -- a feel good solution that soaks the taxpayers and doesn't resolve the actual problem.

I disagree that Perry is (Of declared candidates) the best contrast to Obama. I believe that Rick Santorum would be that candidate. However if we are talking about candidates that have a shot in the dark of actually winning in 2012.....yeah, Perry is probably correct.

On illegal immigration, Perry is only slightly better than Obama, so that issue is pretty much a wash. Not that it’s the biggest issue facing us right now anyway.

This election will be about JOBS, and Perry is the JOBS candidate. Obama cannot and will not beat that.

It's going to be about JOBS and that's what is going to make the difference.

I came to Texas in 2007 for a better job than what I had in Florida.

This year I accepted an even better job that is a newly created position in another company due to the company's growth.

My job is not government and not minimum wage as the critics want to claim are the only new jobs in Texas.

Many companies in Houston could do much more business but there aren't enough qualified people to fill all the engineering, maintenance, craft, QAQC jobs.

All Perry really has to do as President is drill here, drill now and build refineries and the economy will soar in ways unseen since the post WWII boom.

If, and I repeat, if Palin decides to enter the fray ... Obama and Perry will be nothing but a pile of debris left along the highway toward the Presidency of the US.

As far as being a contrast, that's true. In pretty much any quantifiable measure, he's the opposite.

The level of diametric opposition will be a fascinating cultural battle. Even liberals who admit that Barack Obama is a stuttering cluster@#$% of a miserable failure would rather be ruled by one of their own than someone so alien to their core beliefs. The independents won't really see it in those terms, and the starkness of the divide will be useful.

Fence sitters might not care about pro-gun, pro-life positions, but an experienced governor who did well by his state will be a tower of credibility against the SCOAMF that is Barry.

Perry's not perfect, but so long as you're looking for a winning horse and not a religious experience, then he'll work just fine.

Please forgive any appearance of blasphemy, and no deification or idolization of any politician is intended, but this would be like Jesus announcing that he was the best contrast to the devil. A rather weak statement, if you ask me. American doesn’t need to just cancel Obama out, it needs to progress in a conservative direction.

"The differences between President Obama and myself are great," Perry said in Manchester. "He's lost more than a million jobs while he's been president. I've created a million jobs since I've been the governor."

I thought conservatives knew that 'government' men either local or national DO NOT create jobs. Yes, I know jobs numbers are better in Texas than many other states, but it is a pant load for any politician to claim they 'created' even one job, that is unless state government in Texas is rising at a higher employment level than the BamBamKennedy's administration.

Here is who the liberals intend to USE to win election 2012, I have yet to hear a GOP contender even willing to acknowledge just how hard it is going to be for them to overcome this administration's secret votes. It worked out really well for Clintons/algore in 1996.
