Perry Says He's Best Contrast to Obama
Texas Tribune ^ | Sept 3, 2011 | Jay Root

Posted on 09/03/2011 8:11:20 PM PDT by Clairity

Some analysts suggest Perry is too conservative and too controversial to beat Obama, and that Romney would make a better candidate in the general election. The Texas governor made the opposite argument Saturday.

Perry, who spoke at two house parties in New Hampshire, said he was the only candidate who "draws a clear contrast" with Obama.

"The differences between President Obama and myself are great," Perry said in Manchester. "He's lost more than a million jobs while he's been president. I've created a million jobs since I've been the governor."

....

"I don't support a fence on the border. I think strategic fencing is a part of the strategy," Perry said. "If you build a 30-foot wall from El Paso to Brownsville, the 35-foot ladder business gets real good."

As the man kept pressing, Perry said: "You've got to have people on the ground, sir ... and it's got to be law enforcement."

"Perry will do for the US what he did for Texas, create a business-friendly environment of low taxes, minimum regulations, repeal obamacare, tortreform (which he pushed and got passed in Texas). Texas created 40% of all the jobs created in the US. He doesn’t just talk, he has a record of job creation."

Texas is no different than Florida no income tax, so that will attract business,Immigration which he has done nothing about except pander to these criminals ,and the NWO bothers me.

Just talk??? HE never laid out a plan for this country like Palin did this afternoon.

No Perry did not create a protected class.
I said that he put the Sanctuary City law back on the table to be voted on in the special session. He wanted the law passed. I told you what the reason was that the Texas Legislature was held up and did not vote on it.

I never said they were right or wrong. Just gave the facts.

The border security is a Federal issue. It must start with the Federal Government securing the border and all other arguments are mute until that is done.

The fence is stupid. Did you look at the you tube?

Probably not.

Get back to me AFTER Palin officially declares to be a Republican candidate and becomes 1st in the Republican primary polls.

Perry is right. A fence won't stop crap. They will scale it with ease, or tunnel under it. The flow will continue.

What the Fed needs to do, is exactly what Perry wants; A strictly patrolled and enforced border, with heavy consequences for those violating our Sovereign Law. We have the technology to stop them around the clock as well as the military force to enforce it. Which is what should be done.

(Exactly what Perry wants to do.)

Her supporters turn me off so bad, sometimes it makes me gag. She is a great conservative - but she’s not perfect by any means - just like Perry isn’t perfect. This whole “I’ll stay at home” if she isn’t the candidate crap is just unbelievable at this point in time!

You can’t criticize her any least little bit - but they can say anything, even if it isn’t true, about the other candidates. The way they talked about Michele Bachmann was disgusting. They really are cult-like.

The Perry-bashers don’t want to be bothered by facts, they have trained themselves to ignore them, no matter how well documented they are. They are just repeating the mantra they are getting from the Democrat talking points. The Dems are trying to knock out Perry in the primary, by trying to turn some gullible conservatives against him, because they know that Obama is toast if Perry is the GOP nominee.

Actions speak louder than words. Perry, for good or bad, is a known quantity. He ran Texas for 11 years, and seems to have done a better job than not. I'd be less interested in what he has to say than someone with a shorter record of accomplishment that has to sell themselves as a prospect, not a known quantity.

Granted, his record isn't perfect, but it's also not speculative. People that voted for Obama, or that put their hopes on untested elements like Cain or Bachmann, for instance, are really just betting on their own hopes and dreams, rather than what their own common sense and experience should tell them. Ignoring the darkness and filling it with your own imagination didn't pan out for Obama fans, and it won't help us either.

The biggest selling point for Perry is exactly that we don't need to listen to his words. We can go look at Texas. If we like what we see, we can hire him, without having to worry about what he's promising right now. It's entirely fair to question the bad things in his record, but most candidates really can't compete with the formidable weight of having so long a record to question.

"Well since it was a former cheer leader only the doctor knows for sure, but every time I see him, the ROTC guy in the convertible in animal house comes to mind, I keep seeing the blond with the surgical glove and Perry."

Everytime I see him or him him speak I can't help, but think of Greg Stillson.

Magna

I am not arguing the issues you bring up.

I was just stating the facts and reasons.

One thing I do want to correct - Hispanics are not the ones getting caught in child-sex slave rings.
ILLEGAL Mexicans are.

I wanted them to pass the bill. Perry apparently wanted them to pass the bill too. That is why he put the bill on the table. And that is why he said that he wanted them to pass it.

But I would like to point out to everyone - when you go to the airport and are patted down by TSA:

it is intrusive

As Americans, we are being profiled and subjected to unconstitutional unreasonable search because of what some Muslims did on 9/11.

For one, Palin just said again today, that “You can still make a difference without holding a title.” which is a clear message that she intends to stay doing what she has been doing. Touring and doing speeches, or getting paid mega bucks to be a commentator on FOX.

Second, even if she does get in, she won't have enough funding and her dedicated following will be way too short to give her the numbers to win the primaries. They never have been adequate and they will surely fall short even further, because she delayed for too long.

Sounds like you plan on having a military force there anyway. If so, then why do you need a fence? Why pay the huge cost of building it when Perry’s plan is the only thing that actually will work?

Perry is for strong boarder security (just not a stupid fence). He is strongly pro-life. He is pro-market on job growth and calls global warming the scam that it is.

Perry has governed a large state successfully for 8 years and knows how to handle himself politically. He is tough. He was in the Air Force for years and understands and respects the military.

No candidate is perfect. We would be lucky to have him as President, especially compared to the alternative of Obama getting re-elected.

"with heavy consequences for those violating our Sovereign Law"

Does that include states that provide sanctuary and give entitlements to illegals and their kids like Texas does?

Yes it should be Jail time and not a fine which is nothing to some people.
