INDIANOLA, Iowa -- Sarah Palin still isn't a candidate, but in an aggressive bid to lay down her marker in the 2012 Republican presidential race, she delivered a speech here Saturday that was as confrontational toward the Republican establishment as it was aimed at President Obama.
Despite her high-profile endorsement of Rick Perry during his 2010 gubernatorial primary fight, Palin used thinly veiled language to leave little doubt that she sees the Texas governor and national front-runner for the Republican nomination as part of the problem.
Some GOP candidates, they also raise mammoth amounts of cash, Palin said. We need to ask them, too: What, if anything, do their donors expect from their investments? We need to know this because our country cant afford more trillion-dollar thank-you notes to campaign backers.
Again and again, Palin urged her audience to confront the permanent political class, crony capitalism and the good ol boys, whom she said she took on as governor of Alaska.

Theyve got a lot of mouths to feed, a lot of corporate lobbyists, a lot of special interests that are counting on them to keep the good times and the money rolling along, Palin said. It doesnt surprise me. Ive seen this kind of crony capitalism before.

fact is ..a bunch of those folks you are trying to smear...for whatever reason as Perry donators are decent folks and conservative
where do you get off acting like big donors are a sin?
my dad was a Reagan and Bush I pioneer..very conservative...regretted Bush I a bit but there was never much choice in that one
JR says he can get behind Perry?
IS JR bad guy too?...not conservative?
You’re smarter than this...Palin will take big money too if she ever gets around to running...rhetoric to the contrary
or she will get blitzed in advertising
Great post. Thank you.
Because she is Sarah Palin. I was just thinking watching her speech how genius it is...what she is doing. She got attention, which the newspapers have tried to pervert and twist. Other candidates get a few minutes of sound bites given on tv, of what they are saying or in debates. She has given her whole philosophy in her speech and covered everything she needs to. She is doing what I know she will do, first thing, if and when she gets elected, which is get rid of corruption in government and in her own party. She sees it clearly and understands it. She knows what she is up against and knows what she is in for once she throws her hat in the ring. So she taking control of what she can. She is smart enough to use to her advantage what advantages she has...Great speech, i am back in her corner.
It appears Perry was calling for no corporate taxes about 3 weeks ago.
Bless you, dear caww! Amazing job!
I have to save those quotes!
I am so happy for you and that was another great line!
Beautiful photos!
Keep praying!!!
Nice catch! Amazing and disgusting how the PDSers resort to lies (half quotes).
RLY? I had not noticed!
Tell Jim if you’re not getting any help or answers from his moderators.
Dear abigail2! You mean you left her corner!!!!
Well, welcome back, GF! Governor Palin gave everyone a preview of her platform. Of course, she’s been writing about several of her ideas over the months, in her FB entries, but it was sure good to hear her articulate a few of them today!
You’re right. None of her rivals can command the media attention or the huge crowds she draws and there’s good reason for that. She’s genuine and people want to see her in person, support her and hear what she has to say.
I went to see the “Undefeated” and the party after. The party was run by gays and I was put off by that. That they would be in charge, thus giving them legitimacy in the party. But I am back in her corner, that is the only time I seriously left LOL.
Now why would you bring this up??? (/sarc)
Good to see you haven't been banned (yet). ;^D
Supportive of Arizonas immigration law first to stand with Governor Brewer Secure the Border effort
Supports sending troops to the U.S. Mexico border and completion of a fence to secure Americas southern border
Opposed to amnesty for illegal immigrants
Opposed to the DREAM act
Opposes boycotts of states who implement state immigration laws
Supportive of legal immigration
Darn, I wish I had thought of that one. They both could be brothers in styles and beliefs. Birds of a feather.......
G.W. Bush was for both open borders and amnesty but he didn't get either one. He tried but Americans said no. We are still saying no. NO!
As I've said before, if her supporters want to claim Perry's consistent support for a temporary, 2 year guest worker program without citizenship is "amnesty," then Sarah Palin's support for a guest worker program for the illegals already here is also amnesty.
It's even worse because she support Bush & McCain's amnesty scheme in 2008 while Perry at least argued against it in 2006 and 2007.
Sure, her supporters might try to hide behind McCain when it comes to statements made during that campaign but they can't avoid what she said only last year on O'Reilly. during 9.5% unemployment.
After watching Palin's underwhelming Iowa speech, I saw Romney's Aug 27 appearance in NH on C-SPAN and when asked about immigration he spoke of employer sanctions, against in-state tuition (an attack at Perry) but said nothing about what to do with those here.
On immigration, Bachmann is the highest rated by Numbers USA. She's a "B-", Cain a "C-" and the others are "D" and below.
“Sarah isnt for open borders, but she supports amnesty, which will destroy this country with the stroke of a pen.”
Can you supply a link to show she supports amnesty?....I’d like to see it.....I missed that one...
From what I heard, there was a lot of rain at the time and it was held out doors... That can put a damper on things...
