The Berlin Wall worked. The Israeli fence works today.
Sure, a border fence would be expensive. And it would take courage to effectively man them.
But I don't see any other reasonable alternative.
If you just use sensors, you'll get more of the catch-and-release like we have today. That's a complete joke.
If you put the Guard on the border, then what? The Guard can't stand along the border shoulder to shoulder. You'd have to give orders to shoot to kill. That would never happen.
at keeping people imprisoned.
Is that what you want?
The ignorance of Texas geography on this thread is astonishing, since it is essentially a thread about Texas geography.
People just running their mouths (or keyboards) without knowing the facts.
You couldn't travel the border between TX & Mexico, much less build a fence.
I went through Checkpoint Charlie...what made the Berlin Wall work was the armed guards in guard houses along the wall ready to shoot...and did.
It was built in the city to split East from West Berlin...and was built to keep people in, not to keep people out.
How about sensors that allow rockets to home in on a person’s infrared signature? That would be the sensors I’d be happy about deploying if we aren’t building walls.
