URBANDALE, Iowa (AP) — Sarah Palin is making a surprise appearance at a suburban Des Moines restaurant.

And she was greeted there Friday night with chants of "Run, Sarah, run!"

Hundreds of fans jammed into the Iowa Machine Shed, with the backroom of the farm-themed restaurant overflowing, as people from as far away as Texas, Florida and California strained for a glimpse of the former Alaska governor....

I must say, DJ, that your comments are likely the best I’ve read. You speak for me. This *she can’t win* crap is the crap of the lamestream that fear her, her rivals, the paid pollsters and the GOP-E. It’s straight out of Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals.

I’m not sure she will win, but I am certain that she will take it to the Marxist like none other and not mince words.

I am also certain that women who won’t vote for her, are hopelessly jealous and don’t want her to have the presidency in addition to a happy and full life. Pitiful and pathetic.

95% of the people say they would never vote for Palin. That’s not to say they don’t like her..everyone likes her..but they see the same thing I do.

Most people I talk to express the same opinion, that Palin isn't the one, she can't win, she's damaged goods, whatever. It's all base on false information. By the time I get through with them, most have changed their minds. If I can do it, Sarah Palin on the stump will do it even better. The truth, powered with passion, makes selling folks on Sarah Palin quite easy. It's fun to see their attitudes change.

From C4P: Details are sketchy at the moment, but multiple souces confirm Governor Palin has arrived at the Machine Shed Restaurant in Des Moines:

Via Jennifer Jacobs of the Des Moines Register…

"Sarah Palin is here at the Machine Shed in Urbandale, with a crowd chanting “Run, Sarah, run.”

…and Jeff Zeleny of the New York Times:

"Sarah Palin arrives at Machine Shed restaurant in Iowa. Big applause and chants of "Run Sarah Run" by Organize4Palin crew.

Update: CNN’s Peter Hamby tweets:

"Palin chief of staff Mike Glassner in the house here in Urbandale. Palin mobbed despite best efforts of staff to get people seated"

Update II: Here are a few pictues from the Machine Shed floating around the twitterverse. Apologies for not citing who took them but I can’t figure it out.

Governor and Todd Palin at Machine Shed Restaurant:

More when it becomes available.

Does anyone see that Perry is being pushed on us by the powers that be? I remember when Bush came out of nowhere and all the newspapers made a media celeb of him even the libs by giving him too much attention....not to say he wasn’t ok. But he was foisted on us when we might have found a better candidate.

and people like you are trying to rip apart the GOP

JMHO, but there are parts of the GOP that need to be ripped apart. Run through a tree branch chipper followed by a paper shredder and set on fire after being doused in gasoline.

But that's JMHO.

And she has demonstrated that for a few years now. To be honest, it’s just endearing to me that she will do the same to the GOP establishment. They know that she is one of those ethical woman we all know somewhere in our lives, a teacher, a woman at church,,,Hell, even the d@amned MVD clerk who *will not* bend the rules “just this time”.

Their backroom shady deal days are numbered. They will have to address her head on, right in the light of day. (and then by implication,,,all of us that put her there) What they fear in Sarah, is exactly what they fear in regular Americans. An implacable foe who sees them for what they are.

-"She’s a celebrity now...we live in a celebrity world. That doesn’t mean those same people would vote for her."

Was Reagan a "celebrity"? - Guess he didn't get many votes.

What will she say?

...a furious criticism of “crony capitalism” and attack the “permanent political class” in both parties! If someone doesn't know what that means, then there's a good chance they might be inclined to vote for one of the other candidates.

Yep, well my vote can’t be taken for granted.

No more rinos or career, incumbent, fossil politicians.

They’re addicted to power and to reaching across the aisle.

TEA PARTY PATRIOTS ONLY.
