Palin to Rip "Crony Capitalism" in Iowa Speech
Real Clear Politics ^ | 09/02/11 | Scott Conroy

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Though she won't be a candidate when she delivers a major address at a tea party rally in Iowa on Saturday, Sarah Palin will make it clear that she if enters the presidential race later this month she will vociferously challenge Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s engrained image of solidarity with the tea party movement.

In her speech at the bucolic National Balloon Classic field in Indianola, Palin will lean on loaded phrases like “crony capitalism” and “permanent political class” in laying out her view of the U.S. political system’s deep-rooted ills, according to a source close to Palin and familiar with the content of the speech.

Though she will not call Perry out by name, Palin’s carefully couched rhetoric will leave the impression that she may soon draw more overt attention to one of the Texan’s potential vulnerabilities as a candidate: his history of doling out plum positions and other benefits to generous campaign donors during his nearly 11-year tenure as the nation’s longest serving governor.

Sorry buddy but almost every member of my family and extended family have attended TEA Party rally’s and not one is voting for or even likes Palin anymore.

Apparently your family is a product of the source. ......cleanup in produce!

If Palin goes after Perry, she's toast. She has no record to run on, he does. Her record consists of half a term as a governor of a state with a population smaller than the city of Dallas.

Unless you just love her because she's Sarah, she's all talk with nothing, and I mean nothing that actually proves she can run the country. If she won, she would have to adopt Perry's Texas economic model, certainly not the Alaska economic model which consists of being the 3rd largest recipient of Federal welfare and major oil profit taxes.

True...but I’m just a natural born skeptic when it comes to anything a blog and/or news site has to say. So, I ain’t sayin’ it’s fact or fiction. I’m just wary.

She has taken advantage of people being wowed by her celebrity for a very long time and it's time for her to do something of substance. If she doesn't it's time for her devotees to recognize she is just another pretty face who is capitalizing off people's willingness to worship her.

Hey Granny, go focus your bile on The Willard and/or Big Hair Rick from Texas. There are numerous threads on this site laying down for all who will see that Big Hair Rick not only couldn't beat the undocumented primate from Kenya, he will never get the nomination. Your endless, NON-SUBSTANTIVE rants against Sarah are ludicrous. Since she broke free from McCain, she has been laying out her goals, supported by clearly stated facts, in a thousand venues, for well nigh a thousand days. She does not have nor does she seek the support of the mainslime media with its endless regurgitation of Democrat talking points and equally endless sliming against Sarah and her family.

BTW, Granny, you use the term 'worship' rather loosely, plainly meaning to characterize those thinking people who have a deep regard for Sarah as a pack of KoolAid drinkers given to imbuing her with divine powers. Conservative folks don't do thay, Granny - national socialists and liberals do - vide the undocumented primate stepping out between the fake roman columns at the Denver convention.

Finally, Granny, tell us all which of the announced or unannounced pubbie candidates you support. It will have to be someone who will carry all the states and have coattails sufficient for at least a dozen new conservative seats in the senate. That would be Sarah Palin. Neither Perry nor The Willard can do that and without a real tsunami the country is headed down.

She gets $100,000, a ride in a $1200/hour Lear jet/bendy straws for this speech. She got a $7,000,000 book deal with Harper Collins, $1,000,000 per year Fox contract which she hasn’t resigned to run as Newt and Santorum had to do.

She’s not going to give up the perk$ for the POTUS salary.

If he goes after Palin's record,or lack thereof she's toast.

What pundits should be talking about when it comes to Palin

As governor in 2007, Palin was responsible for the largest veto totals in state history, while investing $1 billion in forward-funding education and fulfilling public safety and infrastructure necessities.

Palin reduced spending by 9.5% from 2007 to 2010 and slashed earmark requests by over 80% during her time as governor.

Under Palin, Alaska’s total liabilities were reduced by 34.6% overall.

Palin tossed out the corruption-ridden, structurally-flawed Petroleum Profits Tax of the Murkowski administration and put forth ACES (Alaska’s Clear and Equitable Share), which incentivized development while seeing to it that Alaskans — resource owners as per the Alaska Constitution — would receive “A CLEAR and EQUITABLE SHARE (ACES) of the value of their commonly-owned oil and gas.” The result? Alaska was left with a $12 billion surplus. Also, as reported at Big Government, “The number of oil companies filing with the Alaska Department of Revenue has doubled, indicating that competition has indeed increased. Alaska has the second most business friendly tax set-up — up two spots since the passage of ACES. Additionally, a report from Governor Parnell’s Department of Revenue indicated that 2009 yielded a record high in oil jobs.”

Grandma you are either ignorant or just a Palin basher. Do you work for Obama? If you even paid a little bit of attention, you would know that Palin already has an organization in most states, with plenty of time to organize in the later states. She has said that she would run an “unconventional” campaign. Meaning she won't need all of those “so-called” political experts.

Ever heard of SarahPac? SarahPAC - Sarah Palin’s Official PAC www.sarahpac.com/

“I know, I know, people on here think she walks on water”

I just noticed that you keep on repeating this phrase. Is this a slam against Christians? Are you “mocking” Christians? Do you think this insult is “funny”? Why don't you take your anti-Christian hate elsewhere.

SarahPac is not a super PAC and cannot be used to support any candidate for President including Palin.

It is really scary how many people are fooled by this.

Well, he’ll only quit if he wins, so you’ve got him in the “win” column apparently.

But seriously, I really wish y’all wouldn’t go there. It’s too easy to point out that the Alaskans who voted for Palin probably had a reasonable expectation that she’d serve out her full term when they elected her. Perhaps she didn’t specifically state she would fulfill her first and only term but it really doesn’t need to be said. She didn’t and I don’t really care what excuse she had. Perry has been Governor for 10 years!

I like you DJ. Perhaps when it becomes apparent that she’s not running you’ll join me on the Cain Train!

What’s holding her back ?

She has said repeatedly that the decision is a family one. They have been harassed and received death threats. Being President is not a light task. It is a weighty position and not a "glam" one. She is weighing it VERY carefully.

I really don't think you want to bring up the issue of quitting...

What you don't want to acknowledge is why. It takes away your MSM meme.
