Wyatt Earp disbursed many a lynch mob I doubt it. He may have DISPERSED one or two drunken assemblies ...

Load the first 5 rounds with nonlethal ordinance and the last 10 with OO buckshot.
If the first 5 don't get their attention......the last 10 will.

Shoot them.
Shoot them a lot.
Shoot them in the head.
Shoot them on the spot.
Shoot them in the groin.
Shoot them in their guts.
When they turn to run,
Shoot them in their butts.

You forgot to include “Lawyer Up.” Most of the flash mob incidents are taking place in liberal no-gun zones. If you defend yourself be prepared to be arrested, charged and prosecuted because you killed an underprivileged future Doctor, Scientist, Nobel Laureate who was just beating you to death out of boredom.

If you don't have thousands of dollars burning a hole in your pocket/purse, there's Hi-Point firearms, where all the pistols are UNDER $200 with a full lifetime, transferable warranty.

Here’s a major difference:
Wyatt Earp knew he had the law behind him and the government behind the law.
Today, anyone apprehended threatening or shooting Holder’s People may have the law behind him, but the government will be on the other side.

Kel Tec doesn’t have a top flight reputation for reliability (although it’s better than a lot of firearm companies), but that shotgun really grabs me. If it turns out to be dependable and not hideously expensive I’ll probably buy one. Kel Tec deserves credit for making interesting guns—some nice small pistols, pistol caliber carbines, and the 30 round .22 Magnum pistol come to mind and especially their new shotgun.

I guess it is sadly a legitimate concern.
Probably the most practical gun for dealing with large number of wild acting criminals would be one of the Glock or similar guns which now come with really hi capacity mags and are immediately ready for shooting as soon as the gun is in your hand.
Since I can’t afford a new one right now, I would probably wear my old Browning Hi-Power. Although it protrudes a bit, I would have one of the Mec-Gar 20 round mags in it.
Cocked and locked it would be nearly as quick despite having a small safety lever. That would be 21 shots fast in a gun which is easy to hit with.

Kel-Tec KSG 15 shot 12-gauge I like it! But, the inside the waistband holster for it is a bit awkward and uncomfortable at times.
