I have had a 9mm Browning since 1969. I have shot it about every way it is possible to do so. Over the years I learned that it just seems easy to hit with for me.
It is fairly accurate but what I mean is it fits my hand just right, points naturally, and I even think it just shoots where I look.
I have others which do not do so well and a few that do. The 1911 has always been one I considered easy to hit with. I Like the Weaver grip and the finger on the front of the trigger guard, both styles which seem to be going out of style but they still fit me.
I am a certified instructor from both the State of Mississippi and the NRA tho technically I haven’t kept my certifications up to date.
I taught skeet shooting for two years at Southern Miss. Anyway I do know how to shoot a gun .

Seems kinda useless, as you’ve got to assemble the weapon. And I really don’t see the flash mob willing to wait.

If you can get it, the fully automatic Glock 18C with a standard 17 round clip in the stock... and two 33 round extended clips as backup should eliminate most flash mobs. Even large ones can be dealt with if you have 83 rounds (plus one in the chamber) to burn.
:-P
Plus, it’s more concealable than a shotgun.

Had the Hi-Point 9mm (C9) a while back. It was 140 bucks, completely reliable, and very accurate.
Sold it to a buddy who was new to guns and he loves it.
I still have the 9mm carbine that HP makes. Great little gun.

That’s what we had at the security company I worked at in Texas. Never had a problem with it.

How does one conceal a 12-gauge shotgun? Violin case?
Trombone case

How much did you have to USE it?
To: papertyger
You have to qualify for your license every year and we also went to the range for fun once in awhile. Didn’t have to use it on the job. I’m 6 feet tall and 350lbs. A pistol is an afterthought, usually.

I like the concept. It has to fit in the Tour-Pak. Suggestions encouraged!

Here's my 2 cents. I say a simple .357 magnum ready to fire will scatter any flash mob like a bunch of scared rabbits. If you have to shoot one down, then the mob will run even faster.
People are making this more complicated than need be, IMO.

Good advice about driving in reverse. Especially in a Suburban. It is quite the battering ram. If you don’t get through, go forward and back up again!

I was missing my little C9 the other day. It's hard not to like a gun that was so inexpensive, but shot so well.
Just saw them for $150 at my local gun store. I think I'll be picking up another. :)

I have an AK47 pistol that conceals nicely in a cheap tennis racquet case.
I also have a single point sling on it, and it would easily conceal under a raincoat.
Even with only one standard magazine, that's 30 rounds of rock n' roll on tap.

For crowds I have long recommended water canons. Works like a charm hosing down the miscreants.
One can add dye to the tank for later identification.
Refreshing in hot weather - damn discouraging when the temperature goes down.

excellent article, thanks. however, I would like to direct
everyone attention to FReeper “Molon Labbie” comments on
what might happen after a legitimate self-defense. These
comments are in other recent threads.
