President Obama faces political catastrophe in the form of Solyndra -- a San Francisco Bay area solar company that he touted as a gleaming example of green technology. It has announced it will declare Chapter 11 bankruptcy. More than 1,100 people will lose their jobs.

We live in an area with a lot of trees, natives and evil non native trees.
With the lovely trees come some pests like carpenter ants and dry wood termites.
We recently had an invasion of both. We used a company, we have used before. Their people are long timers and the company has good guarantees that they back up.
Their inspector and workers brought up the failure of this faux solar energy company and the so called green treatments of pests. They said most of the so called green anti termite and insect treatments had an effective half life that lasted until the treatment truck left the driveway.
They said they were disgusted by use of their tax $’s to subsidize fakes/shams like this solar company. They said many of the actual solar residential installments were made by unskilled illegals which often left serious damage to the roofs which have allowed pests to come in the house and for leaks to appear in what had been good roofs.
This past summer, we have watched many, not all that old roofs being replaced, including one on our cul de sac this week. All of them had fairly recent solar roof installations, and the current one which had a massive Solar panel unit on the roof. That unit never worked that well because the home is surrounded by native oaks which grew higher in a few years and blocked a large % of any sunlight except from about noon to 2 pm. The home owners will not be installing a new solar panel unit after getting their new good sized 5 figure roof.
I have called a few bad terms/words in the past years because I have and continue to lable Wind/Solar and Mythnoall as green shams/con games that waste our tax $’s and don’t work.

Green leaves serve a very vital purpose in their short life.
The green jobs come from our Tax Dollars funding faux energy scams and other green scams. They only enrich those who dreamed up the green scams and got our tax $’s to fund their scams.
“To who? I never see one on the road anywhere I go. Was just commenting over the last weekend as we were heading to the store that I have never seen a Chevy Volt on the road.”
Excellent observation. There are a few Piouses in the neighborhood and a lot around town. We see the Honda electrics with their little yellow stickers re no tolls, no longer viable, and a few Nissans.
Here in liberal green heaven, Northern Cali wino country, we haven’t seen a Volt.

One of the first moves of the Obama administration was a $787 billion government stimulus in early 2009 to prop up an ailing economy. Many conservatives these days are focused on reining in government spending — and this undoubtedly will be a talking point in the days to come as GOP candidates and the president hunker down for Election Day 2012.
Was the stimulus just one more Washington boondoggle — a handout to special interests that wasted taxpayer money when we already are up to our eyeballs in debt? Or was it a crucial intervention in a time of great need that helped prevent a recession from turning into a depression or worse?
The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office has just come out with its report on the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (referred to in the document as ARRA in typical beltway affection for acronyms and jargon). And its findings on the real impact of the stimulus package are worth noting:
Real Deficit Impact Is 5% Higher: The CBO estimates the total deficit impact of the spending actually will be $825 billion. That’s a roughly 5% increase over that headline $787 billion price tag initially reported.
The Money Already Is Spent: But more importantly, “close to half of that (deficit) impact occurred in fiscal year 2010, and about 85 percent of ARRA’s budgetary impact was realized by the end of June 2011.” In short, lest politicians tell you otherwise, the horse has left the barn.

The Solyndra money is tucked away in one of the top secret banking havens....waiting to be wire-transferred into O’s campaign coffers.
He’s got a real problem-——with sinking approvals and votes fleeing———how’s he gonna explain getting hundreds of millions in campaign contributions?
