Andre Carson: Tea party wants blacks 'hanging on a tree'
POLITICO ^ | 8/31/11 | JAKE SHERMAN

Posted on 08/31/2011 5:33:25 AM PDT by markomalley

A top lawmaker in the Congressional Black Caucus says tea partiers on Capitol Hill would like to see African Americans hanging from trees and accuses the movement of wishing for a return to the Jim Crow era.

Rep. Andre Carson, a Democrat from Indiana who serves as the CBC’s chief vote counter, said at a CBC event in Miami that some in Congress would “love to see us as second-class citizens” and “some of them in Congress right now of this tea party movement would love to see you and me…hanging on a tree.”

Carson also said the tea party is stopping change in Congress, likening it to “the effort that we’re seeing of Jim Crow.”

The explosive comments, caught on tape, were uploaded on the internet Tuesday, and Carson’s office stood by the remarks. Jason Tomcsi, Carson’s spokesman, said the comment was “in response to frustration voiced by many in Miami and in his home district in Indianapolis regarding Congress’ inability to bolster the economy.” Tomcsi, in an email, wrote that “the congressman used strong language because the Tea Party agenda jeopardizes our most vulnerable and leaves them without the ability to improve their economic standing.

“The Tea Party is protecting its millionaire and oil company friends while gutting critical services that they know protect the livelihood of African-Americans, as well as Latinos and other disadvantaged minorities,” Tomcsi wrote. “We are talking about child nutrition, job creation, job training, housing assistance, and Head Start, and that is just the beginning. A child without basic nutrition, secure housing, and quality education has no real chance at a meaningful and productive life.”

Carson is hardly the first lawmaker to use heated rhetoric. Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) yelled “you lie” as President Barack Obama was addressing Congress. Rep. Randy Neugebauer (R-Texas) yelled “baby killer” at former Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.) as abortion was being discussed during the health care debate.

Carson, who represents Indianapolis, is the second Muslim to ever serve in Congress. He has been in office since 2008, and took the seat that was held by his late grandmother — Rep. Julia Carson (D-Ind.).

You must not have gotten the memo. Only blacks can make racist claims. Blacks aren’t racist, don’t have a racist bone in their bodies and never will. Blacks are always victims of the big bad white man. Any time a black doesn’t get his way it’s because of a racist white guy. Ad infinitum, ad nauseum.
One more thing. White america owes blacks whatever they want, whenever they want it, in what ever quantity they desire. Disagreeing with this memo in any way, shape or form is prima facia evidence that you are a racist.

He not only crossed the line of comity that the Congress has drawn to ensure the collegiality needed in a democracy, his hate filled comment obliterated it. If the Congress does not censure this statement then all bets are off, and let the unchecked namecalling begin.

You have to cut this weirdo from Indianoplace a little slack - he is a fricking muzzie convert and, presumably, was just coming off his Rama Dama Ding Dong fasting, which fasting in fact made him less able to restrain his racist rants. Hey Andre, you racist punk, there just might be enough people in your district who are sufficiently embarrassed by your involvement in a gutter cult of racism, hatred and evil to vote you out.

They’ve reached the limits of what the [non-violent] political process can achieve,

and the next step is violence.

Oh for crying out loud. When will the Blacks be embarrassed enough by their hucksters to do something about it?

“There is another class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs, partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs.”… Booker T. Washington …1904 quote

So here is a group that gives money and advocates only to people of one particular race and they claim that Tea Parties want to return to pre-civil rights days. Would that be irony?

Oh, really now, Mr. Carson?

And exactly who are these people who have said this to you, sir?

Names, please. Let's be specific. Who in the U. S. Congress has threatened you with being strung up?

Mr. Carson...did you understand the question, sir? Identify the persons in Congress who have threatened your life, sir. Do it now, please. Let's have the names.

Come now, Mr. Carson. If someone in the U.S. Congress has threatened you with bodily harm, you will want to come forward with that information so that the authorities can deal with them. Who are these Tea Partiers who have told you that they want to see you "hanging from a tree?"

Mr. Carson...your stunning inability to name even one of your purported verbal assailants, Tea Partiers all, no doubt, is very troubling, indeed. It makes it appear as though you have made this whole "hanging by a tree" thing up. Do you have any reason why we should not consider you a craven, sniveling liar whose word simply cannot be trusted?

Very well, then. Please take your lies somewhere else.

Actually, the Tea Party is one of the few groups with practical suggestions on how to LOWER the unemployment rate among blacks.

The liberal democrats are lynching blacks (again, as in the old dixie democrat south, this time with liberal economics), and true patriots are trying to help them and all Americans get back to work.

Huge unemployment caused by their policies and liberals don’t look at obvious solutions. They only make the situation worse.

Just announced: Economy failed to produce enough jobs again this month for the economy to grow.

To all our conservative fellow black Americans. Leftist liberalism is an equal opportunity destroyer. We stand united against the lies and deceptions of the fearmongering left who would enslave us all forever if they could.

Every time a black rat spouts this kind of crap the ranks of the Tea Party swell. If they keep it up they are just sowing the seeds of their own political destruction.

This will not end well.

When Hussein gets voted out of office next year the behavior of the "keepin' it real" crowd will hit rock bottom.

My note to the Speaker of the House...

Better get this race baiting bigot reined in. His comments that Tea Party folks want blacks hanging from trees is despicable and should be called for what it is. Inflammatory hate speech.

Since I’m unable to post my remarks directly to him, I suspect that it’s incumbent upon your office to do so. His pathetic excuse that “frustration” caused him to make those comments is laughable to any decent person.

This kind of crap is going to lead to violence in the streets and I don’t mean by white folks either. Have you been watching the news lately about blacks going feral attacking WHITE folks in the “knockout game”? The kidnapping, rape, sodomy, torture and murder of WHITES by blacks? The so called “flash mobs”? The unprovoked attack by about 4 blacks on a WHITE in Philadelphia? And on and on, etc.

It’s starting and if it’s not contained and restraint used by our elected representatives, it’s going to lead to more bloodshed. Actions have consequences. I don’t believe any of those who insist on Balkanizing themselves (CBC) have any interest in serving the best interests of this country, so they probably don’t give a damn about WHITE folks getting robbed, beaten up, raped, murdered, etc. especially if it’s by their own kind. Just reparations, you know?

This so called “representative’s” remarks are quite similar to another race baiting piece of garbage who incited riots in New York a few years back, Al Sharpton. Jews were singled out and some killed.

Grow a pair and call this clown out and expose him for what he is. A treasonous, race baiting, hate monger attempting to incite riots.

P.S. Many of my expressed sentiments are applicable to that joke of a “representative” Maxine Waters as well.

Regards,

Every Tea Partier running for Congress should use this very quote and those like it to turn the tables on this sh*t.

Perhaps Andre would appreciate some hyperbole directed back at him... e.g., blacks want to kill white women to watch them bleed.

Exactly! Where is Mr. Suntan Man [Boehner] when these Black Caucus race hustlers run around the country committing serial hate crimes? All Real Americans should bear in mind that the season and sudden acceptability of this imcendiary hate speech began during the 2008 campaign, when, inter alia, the undocumented primitive from Nairobi [a]referred to his own grandmother as a typical white woman; [b]spoke of bitter white people, cowering in their basements, clinging to their guns and their Bibles, and on and on and on. Andre and his ilk in the congress and elsewhere throughout the race hustling milieu are simply playing monkey see, monkey do. They are also playing with fire.
