Minorities Become A Majority In Washington Region
By Carol Morello and Ted Mellnik August 30
Washington is among eight big-city metropolitan regions in which minorities became a majority in the past decade, according to a new analysis of census data showing white population declines in many of the largest metro areas.
Along with Washington, the regions surrounding New York, San Diego, Las Vegas and Memphis have become majority-minority since 2000. Non-Hispanic whites are a minority in 22 of the countrys 100-biggest urban areas.
The white population shrank in raw numbers in 42 of those big-city regions. But every large metro area showed a decline in the percentage of whites.
The shifts reflect the aging of the white population as more people get beyond their childbearing years and the relative youth of the Hispanic and Asian populations fueling most of the growth.
Whats happened is pivotal, said William Frey, a demographer with the Brookings Institution who conducted the analysis. Large metropolitan areas will be the laboratories for change. The measures they take to help minorities assimilate and become part of the labor force will be studied by other parts of the country that are whiter and havent been touched as much by the change.
Racial and ethnic minorities make up slightly more than half of the residents of the Washington region, according to 2010 Census figures. The region was 55 percent white in 2000 and 64 percent white in 1990.

pushing to the head of the welfare line
I lived in the DC region when it was still America. That was 45 years ago.
As of 2011, I am 30 years old. By the time I am 50 years old, I am convinced the United States will no longer exist, and neither will much of what was previously known as “the Western world.”
Is it my doing? Hardly. This train wreck was set in motion by LBJ in 1965. This was going on when I graduating high school without a political thought in my brain.
Only a fool thinks this is sustainable. These numbers from William Frey are just projections.
The assumption of these projections is that there will be a sweeping demographic change and no corresponding change in our culture, in our economy, in our political system.
Of course, as early as 2011, we are already feeling the economic shockwaves. This vast welfare state that has been erected above us is utterly unsustainable.
So now the Boomers are retiring, the Millennials are about to move up in this world ... or so they thought.
Here comes Reality to backhand the United States, Western Europe, and Japan for the foolish decisions of the last 65 years.
Baby Boomers are about to be judged by History. There isn’t going to be a “Third World America.” On the contrary, we are able to find out that “First World America” won’t prop up “Third World America” when our middle class lifestyles are on the chopping block.
It will all end in tears.
The other thing is, who is to say that there won't be some kind of white baby boom in the future, or another large migration from Europe to the U.S. at some point in time? Then again, white doesn't necessarily equal freedom-loving Americans as we have seen over the last few decades. What we really need to do is figure out a way to get the true message of being an American into non-white communities. American-born blacks are a lost cause, IMO, so focusing on the Hispanic and Asian communities should be the priority.
The demographics are already in place for the entire nation to be “majority minority” in the next 20 to 30 years.
We’ll see if America as we know it will survive.
A multi-ethnic America can survive and prosper. A multi-cultural America will not.
There is a difference between a future America being multi-ethnic and multi-cultural.
If these immigrants, legal and otherwise, assimilate as previous generations of immigrants did, America as we know it may well survive into the future.
If these immigrants go down the path of not assimilating, then America will reach a point of no return sometime in the next 30 years.
Perhaps pockets of America will survive and prosper, while the rest descends into a Tower of Babel. We’ll see.
I hope I’m wrong about a multi-cultural politically correct America being unsustainable. Only time will tell.
One strong step to take would be to finally control the border. All is lost if we will always have tens of millions of new immmigrants, legal and otherwise, constantly being replaced by yet more waves of same, who are trapped in a Tower of Babel in ethnic ghettos of our cities.
(1) After the globalized world economy collapses over the next twenty years, a “Third World” standard of living will sound like a sweet deal.
No, we are about to plunge over the cliff of world history into the Dark Ages, the same leap the Romans took in the 5th century.
(2) As “shit gets real,” you will be amazed at just how fast these groups will change their tune. In fact, it is already happening with the Congressional Black Caucus openly saying they are “declaring war” on the Tea Party.
(3) Did you know that Europe is on course to lose 1/3rd of its population of the next fifty years? Yes, Europe is facing the most serious crisis since the Black Death of the 14th century.
(4) What do you suppose the implications of that will be for the world economy? Turn on your television!
(5) In 2050, there isn’t going to be a United States, anymore than there was a Western Roman Empire in 550 AD. The Baby Boomers have assumed that the future is always going to be like the past.
The race issue is just one facet of what is happening. It is one example of shit that Baby Boomers swept under the rug that is about to come roaring back into view.
Read the new Mark Steyn book. He knows what I am talking about. Steyn also agrees that there isn’t going to be a United States in 2050.
We call those Auntie Zeituni cards here in the Northeast.
Currently, 1.6 million legal and illegal immigrants settle in the country each year; 350,000 immigrants leave each year, resulting in a net immigration of 1.25 million. Since 1970, the U.S. population has increased from 203 million to 310 million, i.e., over 100 million. In the next 40 years, the population will increase by 130 million to 440 million. Three-quarters of the increase in our population since 1970 and the projected increase will be the result of immigration. The U.S., the worlds third most populous nation, has the highest annual rate of population growth of any developed country in the world, i.e., 0.977 percent (2010 estimate), principally due to immigration.
87 percent of the 1.2 million legal immigrants entering annually are minorities as defined by the U.S. Government and almost all of the 500,000 illegal aliens who enter each year are minorities. By 2019 half of the children 18 and under in the U.S. will be classified as minorities and by 2039, half of the residents of this country will be minorities. Generally, immigrants and minorities vote predominantly for the Democrat Party. Hence, Democrats view immigration as a never-ending source of voters that will make them the permanent majority party.
Since the 1965 Immigration Act, our pro-population growth immigration policies have fueled major demographic changes in a very short period of time. In 1970, non-Hispanic whites comprised 89 percent of the population; today they are 66 percent; and by 2039, they will be 50 percent. The Democrats, under the banner of multiculturalism and diversity, have forged a political coalition that depends on individuals coalescing around racial and ethnic identities rather than the issues. The continuing and increasing flow of minority immigrants, mostly poor and uneducated, provide a natural constituency for the Democrats, which see them as their principal source of political power.
There will be no tears for those of us who have accepted Christ and believe His Word.
We will be raptured away before it gets that bad.
He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.

I lived in D.C. proper, 45 years ago and it was a crap hole then too, ('63-'67).
Different perspectives, I suppose.
Arlington, not DC proper.
It’s seriously time to fuel up the escape pod.
Nonsense.
Let’s blame it all on the baby boomers. That’s the ticket!
How can I refute such a deep, well thought out and intellectual retort?
See ya, wouldn’t want to be ya.

Just say “nonsense” to Jesus when you get there for me.
