LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) Federal officials are readying plans to evacuate a small number of endangered species in Texas as a severe drought lowers water levels and threatens the survival of rare wildlife in the state's huge ecosystem.
Months with almost no rain have caused water levels to drop by half or more in many rivers, lakes and other bodies of water, including springs in the central Texas Hill Country that are the only remaining habitat for populations of small fish, amphibians and other creatures. If the water continues to drop sharply, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service officials are preparing to net up large samples from the springs to take to a hatchery for preservation.
Such evacuations have been rare in the past, with one ordered in 2000 to rescue several species of mussels in Georgia. ..

Yep..same area that burned not too long ago, but the other side of the lake. Lots of beautiful homes that are going up in flames right now. Of course no-one in Obama’s world will care because they are ‘rich people’. The winds have died down a bit now, but there is a system moving in tonight that will likely change the wind direction. I have a friend that has a ranch out there and is pretty nervous about his cattle.
>> Exsctly, this isnt the first drought Tx has had, and it will not be the last.
It’s a bad one though. It’s so bad around here, the Baptists are sprinkling, the Methodists are using wet-wipes, and the Presbyterians are giving out rain checks. Meanwhile the Catholics are trying to turn the wine back into water!
oil and gas men need to be added to the endangered species list for sure!
I looks like things are changing weather wise however Texas is bigger than alot of countries. Some parts of Texas have been much longer without rain than where I am.
I never tape myself. It ruins the mystery.
These moments are between me and my bird.
It explains the perpetually baffled expression he wears.
I can form a tropical system, if you know what I’m saying.
I love that. Great wit.
We need a laugh every so often. Thanks.
Hang in there Texas. Drought relief maybe is headed your way. Seeing tropical activity soon to be in the Gulf .... prayerfully praying for your relief Texas.
I'm counting on some rain soon! In fact, I just put out a brand new rain gauge at my place:
FRegards.
FEMA trailers.
And a $2,500 debit card for fish food.
I do a lot of praying. I sit on my patio and pray for rain everyday. All my squirrels are gone. I haven’t heard the Doves for quite awhile. I’m hoping they are ok and will be home soon.

In spite of Barky doing all he can to keep ‘em down, they’re drilling their brains out in some places (between Schulenburg and La Grange, for example).
But yeah, it’s a tough business, with all the government BS on top of the usual hazards of the trade.
You would think that before “globull warming” that there had never been droughts or floods or tornadoes or hurricanes or any other natural disaster.

Us too. Every day! The LORD listens.
Sorry about your squirrels and doves, but I have faith they’ll be back in due season.
Stay safe, and FRegards
