Obama: could add 1 million new U.S. jobs
Reuters ^ | Aug 30, 2011 | Reuters

(Reuters) - President Barack Obama said on Tuesday there were a range of policy options available that could create up to a million new U.S. jobs, in remarks ahead of a major economic speech that he will deliver next week.

Obama must boost growth and bring down unemployment to be confident of winning another White House term in the November 2012 general election. Economists are skeptical he will get Congress to agree to significant new spending on jobs.

"We don't have magic bullets, but what we do have, I think, is the capacity to do some things right now that would make a big difference," Obama said in a interview with popular radio talkshow host Tom Joyner.

The White House says details of the job creation proposals Obama will unveil next week are still being worked out and it has yet to announce an exact date or location for his speech, although Obama hinted at some of the ideas he would put forth.

""We don't have magic bullets, but what we do have, I think, is the capacity to do some things right now that would make a big difference,"

And that is pretty much going to be the gist of his big "jobs program" initiative next month - more socialist program rhetoric. He will lay out some ill-defined big-gov spending programs and when it doesn't pass logical muster, he will blame the Republicans, Conservatives, and the TEA Party a few months later.

Gawd, what a transparent piece of crap this man is. Maybe he needs to do another World apology tour to re-build his image. Too bad the World is pretty much over him. They (especially Europe) have bigger problems than to congregate in stadiums to worship the "anointed one" anymore.

Guess he didn't bow low enough or often enough to keep their attention.

He - and his handlers - must think Americans are really stupid. No wait, they must think Dims are really stupid, because they must know Tea Partiers won't buy this drivel.

That's it - they think Dims believe this crapola - thus more votes. It's a campaign slogan.

He’s going to enact a VAT, folks. Mark my words. When I was in the UK, it was 17.5%. It has grown since then.....at the whim of the govt. Their ‘sin tax’ is also high as a cat’s back. I remember the “Chancellor to the Exchequer” making announcements every frikkin’ year to increase it (cigs and booze). Not at a ‘state level’....but a NATIONAL one.

Also.....just wait until health care (your life) is debated on the Parliament......errrrrr SENATE floor year in and year out while either side shout at the each other. Fun,, fun, fun.

This

is

your

life.

Meanwhile......the politicians get the BEST healthcare and hospitals while the plebs are stuck with the only doc’s surgery and hospitals assigned to your area. You’re NOT allowed to go anywhere else. Want to see a doc? Wait a week for tonsillitis or shingles. Been there. Want to have your baby? “We don’t have a bed available. Go home even if you’re in labor. Call us when you have a ‘show’.”

This will not work well for the president.

Funny how none of the “deteriorating bridges” that so need repair were not fixed in the giant stimulus package. Alot of unneeded roads paved, but I guess bridges were too tough to tackle. Since unemployment insurance is the best economic remedy to this bunch, maybe we should all quit our jobs— we only do them in Obamas eyes as a duty to the Federales to give them a cut via income taxes.

We've got to do it, unfortunately, at a time when money is tight. George Bush left us (a) $1 trillion deficit," he said, referring to the former Republican president.

Uh, no sir, you inherited that from yourself - you were in control of the purse strings in Congress.

And besides that - a $1 trillion deficit is bad - and so more than doubling it with your supplemental $1.6 trillion spending plan on top of the budgetary deficit of $1.3 trillion+ sure isn't a way to make things better. He's talking in circles.

"Up to" could mean as few as 1 or 2 jobs. Any number from 1 to one million.

Christmas Season is his big idea. That’s why he is waiting for September to announce his intentions to announce his plans. Next thing you know, holidays will roll around, and the economy will tick upwards, and Obama will claim credit for it. Liberals hate Christians except for the gift-giving, which is the only true stimulus spending that will boost an economy. What a laugh, atheists relying on God to bail out the economy.

I didn't say your methods would be a slow cure, Mr. Pussident. I said natural methods would be a slow cure, without all the negative results and dangerous side effects of your disastrous quick "fixes." In other words, we need the methods Marty62 mentioned and others from the RIGHT.

Obama: Congress impeding progress on jobs

All of these things, and more, will help. But slowly. Aside from the kick start that getting rid of Obama and the Dem Senate will do to dispel uncertainty, it’s going to be a slow recovery. Sort of like using natural methods to cure an illness, rather than quick-acting drugs. The pussident’s “solutions” are really more damage in disguise.

You have to pay attention to my whole message, Mr. Puss, not just pull out the buzzwords and buzz phrases and buzz ideas that appeal to you and your sneaky minions in order to further your plans for America's destruction.

That is actually a misleading cartoon, because it suggests that growth will eventually get here through the porkulus plans.

Even if he could, which he has proven demonstrably that he cannot, he has overseen the loss of 12 million jobs since he took office.

To fix unemployment, he needs to stop all the hatin’ when it comes to business, small business, the middle class, using gas. Just stop all the hatin’ bro. Cut taxes. Cut regs. Let the people be free, bro. Stop all the hatin’.

President Obama’s Job Plan: New Details Unveiled

SAUL LOEB/AFP/Getty Images(WASHINGTON) — On Tuesday, ABC’s World News reported on new details of the president’s job plan that he is set to reveal next week — a plan that is critical to his re-election.

White House officials told ABC News Tuesday it will be “new,” “significant” and “detailed,” and promises that President Obama’s highly touted speech includes a proposal for how the government will pay for these initiatives without adding to our debt.

ABC News has learned that Obama will take aim at three areas in hopes of helping the 14 million unemployed Americans. They are:

1. Tax Relief: President Obama will propose tax relief incentives for companies that create jobs and hire new workers.

2. Infrastructure Investment: The president wants the government to invest in clean energy and new construction projects to build schools and transportation.

3. Assistance for Long-Term Unemployed: Obama wants to help those who have been out of work for six months or more, which adds up to about six million Americans. Specifically the president is looking at a program such as Georgia Works — which gives unemployed Americans eight weeks of training at a local company while allowing them to still collect their unemployment benefits. And it’s no cost to the participating company.

And as ABC News reported Tuesday, Georgia claims that the companies hired 24 percent of those workers while another 60 percent were hired elsewhere.

Re: my last post. You know Obama is desperate when he is using a conservative states (GEORGIA WORKS) idea to get re elected.Small business is cutting pay and insurance people can’t barely pay bills IF they have a job and this idiot wants to make it look like he will put a band aid on it to get re elected.

If they don’t cut Obama Care we are doomed. I know a new small company that had they’re health care quotes and package all ready for it’s employees and had to pull out because the rates went up 6 percent in the few days they were looking BECAUSE OF OBAMACARE.If they don’t gut and DEFUND Obamacare and the Dodd/Frank bill and CRAct that CREATED the horrific housing crisis nothing will be fixed. There was a news article posted here a few weeks ago that said Obama is closing down coal plants. WE ARE SUFFERING BECAUSE THIS IDIOT IS HELL BENT ON DESTROYING THIS COUNTRY and the division of the GOP and tea party makes me worried Obama will be re elected if all the infighting continues. We need a good strong candidate and no more BS and games.
