Rick Perry Needn't Sweat His Global Warming Skepticism
Forbes ^ | August 30, 2011 | Larry Bell

Posted on 08/30/2011 1:27:35 PM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

Washington Post op-ed writer Richard Cohen is concerned that “Climate Change May Be Ruin of Perry Campaign.” Far less clear was whether he regards that imminent ruination to be a bad thing, or rather, a cause for celebration. There are excellent reasons to suspect the latter.

Cohen doesn’t hold a very high opinion of the Texas governor, of anyone who doesn’t buy into the notion of a looming global man-made global warming disaster, or of Republicans. Referring to Perry in an Aug. 22 Washington Post article, he opined “It’s not his thinking I fear, it’s the lack of any at all.”

Cohen observed that “[Perry] occupies the cultural and intellectually empty heartland of the Republican party.” The article scorned Perry for publicly stating that he stood with an increasing number of scientists who have challenged the existence of man-made global warming threats, commenting “…whoever they (italics noted) might be. In Appleton, Wis., Sen. Joe McCarthy’s skeleton rattled a bit.” His reference to McCarthy went on to elaborate that “The late and hardly lamented demagogue pioneered the use of the concocted statistic” in suggesting that communists were literally everywhere. He further amplified “There were some, of course, just as there are some scientists who are global warming skeptics, but these few – about 2% of climate researchers – could hold their annual meeting in a phone booth, if there are any left. (Perhaps 2% of scientists think they are).”

This would require a pretty big phone booth,.....

Since 2007 more than 31,000 American scientists from diverse climate-related disciplines, including more than 9,000 with Ph.D.s, have signed a public petition announcing their belief that “…there is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gases is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause...

Looks like two.

Anyone reading a RINO Mitt Perry thread deserves to get all the information on RINO Mitt Perry, not just what you Perry apologists want them to see.

And I am not a troll. That distinction has been bestowed on the originator of this thread.

Have a nice day.

>> “I think it might be possible, theoretically, and there is some data that suggests that it might be happening”

.
And which data would that be?

There aren’t even any data that indicate any increase in temps happened at all, outside of confined urban space that is artificially heated. When all the missing Siberian stations are simulated, there appears to be considerable cooling going on.

Or are you still clinging to the fudged Hadley CRU ‘data?’

Well there is certainly a whole lot of evidence available as well as uncertainty of what that evidence means. It seems to me the High Priests of Global Warming are actually more the deniers than the sceptics.

Texas is the energy capital of the US. There’s no reason we shouldn’t be looking at all forms of energy production to reduce our dependency on foreign oil.

Trolling is obvious by your posting of the same old same old, we've seen continually. That is called trolling.

We do not troll Palin threads...so stop trolling on Perry threads.

Thank you. That's very nice.

Now, Cohen trying to make Perry into Joe McCarthy is interesting to me.

Seems McCarthy got things pretty right and as we can see, the new communism is green environmentalism -- consensus science to control the masses. It's Lysenkoism named for Trofim Lysenko [Stalin's pet environmentalist who was allowed to kill skeptical scientists]

It's in our government, in our schools, in our churches -- it affects what we can buy, what we can do, how we think and where we can go.

Global warming, cooling, change, disruption -- whatever they call it today or will call it tomorrow -- it's purpose is to control you (by the way, in case you hadn't noticed, environmentalism is being slowly change over to being called conservation -- which is what true "stewards" of the natural world around us have always considered themselves - conservationists, so the "greens" are changing their discredited brand and co-opting a respected one).

The Left is gearing up to "McCarthy" Rick Perry because he called out scientists who demand our belief in global warming with ginned up the data and are doing it for money and control.

Cohen finds Rick Perry's position dangerous, as we need government to make rules about this and we need to have international cooperation.

Could it be any clearer folks?

Perry: “We are fed up with being overtaxed and overregulated. We are tired of being told how much salt we can put on our food, what windows we can buy for our house, what kinds of cars we can drive, what kinds of guns we can own, what kinds of prayers we are allowed to say and where we can say them, what political speech we are allowed to use to elect candidates, what kind of energy we can use, what kind of food we can grow, what doctor we can see, and countless other restrictions on our right to live as we see fit.”

CERN has demonstrated that the sun’s magnetic field is responsible for decreased cosmic rays, which reduces cloud formation. Global warming is a result of the sun’s activity.

See the following article: http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/jamesdelingpole/100102296/sun-causes-climate-change-shock/

Even the kind we know doesn't work. If its so damn good, you folks should be bragging it up.

Solar PV generation takes over 15 years to break even, and then the panels only have 5 years of their estimated life left.

Bad decision.

No, if the threads keep on getting posted, then the necessary info needs to be reposted; that’s just common sense.
