Obama: 2012 likely referendum on 'vision of America' By Alicia M. Cohn - 08/30/11 01:39 PM ET
President Obama said Tuesday that he expects continued "resistance" from Republicans that will turn the months leading up to the next election in 2012 into a struggle.
"This next election very well may end up being a referendum on whose vision of America is better," Obama said in a radio interview with "The Tom Joyner Show."
Obama said that his strategy, if faced with continued resistance in Congress, would be to mobilize the American people by going on the road and talking to folks directly in order to best communicate his plans and his vision.
If [the American people] see one side not willing to work with the other to move the country forward, then thats what elections are all about, Obama said.
This [resistance] has been a problem for two and a half years now, he said. Obama named several policies that his administration has been able to push through despite Republican opposition, including the healthcare reform bill, more money for the Pell Grant program and attempts to fix the financial system.
These folks so far have not been very responsive to public opinion ... which is why they are very unpopular right now, Obama said, without specifically naming Republicans in Congress. Congress overall faces a disapproval rate of 82 percent, but recent polls suggest that Americans are increasingly blaming Republicans for congressional gridlock.
Weve just got to keep on putting the pressure on, Obama said. Were going to be in a struggle for probably the next 16, 17 months.
Well to some extent I agree with him, it’s just that his vision of America as the new Soviet Union doesn’t do much for me.
He’s not kidding and we are going to see the ugliest
most vicious campaign in history.
>>Were going to be in a struggle for probably the next 16, 17 months.
Really? In all 57 states?
(uh... the election is only fourteen months away, barky...)
If true, the Democrats do not deserve power. If they apparently could not use a super majority in both houses to produce effective agenda, then they are by default in capable of fighting. According to Obama, the Republicans were running the show when they were out numbered by 20 in the Senate and more than 100 in the House.
Are voters so dumb as to fall for this series of lies? We shall see.
Living in an alternate universe... chump.
Do you really think a mere election will stop him? He'll be fighting against freedom all the way through January 20, 2013, and probably be signing new executive orders while siting at the inauguration.
for the life of America by removing the boot off of her neck that your regime has placed.
Well, I seem to recall that the 2000 election involved a "struggle" that went on into December.

He's including the planned recount suits and other voter fraud activities.
There is an old story about Osama and someone??? about a vision....It's associated with 9-11. Osama tells him to shut up...
And Mohammed's vision is created the Koran and Islam.
I’ve already seen Obama’s “Vision to Destroy America and turn it into Europe” plan..the majority of Americans want no part of it
repost.....

In that case he doesn’t have a prayer.
Yeah, I admit I kinda forgot about that lame duck period.
Interesting, though... if that’s what Barky meant when he mentioned struggling for “16 to 17 months”, instead of it being an oral typo — then he expects to *lose*, eh?
The fact he said this on the Tom Joyner show is quite telling. That is a black radio show and for Obama to use the phrase, “whose vision of America” basically equates to black vs. white. Once again, the great uniter is proving he’s the most divisive President ever.

I agree. This will be an ‘either-or’ choice that will affect the whole nation. This cycle will be unlike any other period of national discord before. Even at the time of the Civil War, the loyalties and divisions were regional. As a result of that war, the whole nation will go one way or the other, and 40% or so of the population will be enraged with the result, whichever result comes to pass.
