The Veterans of Foreign Wars convention this week will not feature a top-tier official from the Obama administration, a breach in tradition that the group's commander described as an "insult of the highest magnitude."
However, an administration official claimed Monday that the White House made "every effort" to provide a speaker for the event, offering up a range of top officials.
"In all instances, the VFW declined those offers," the official said.
The veterans group is accustomed to playing host to the nation's most powerful people at its national conference. Obama addressed the VFW in 2009, followed by Vice President Biden in 2010.

So the administration couldn’t find a communist
that was acceptable?
Dumbest VFW ever.
Damn ——count yourself lucky you don’t have to listen to a pack of lies spouted by this Muslim ,non veteran POS.
Are there any actual veterans in Obama’s administration?
The list, ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
It conflicted with the CAIR conference and others had to attend the Gay,Lesbian and Confused Gender theme park. Look people, you have to have priorities.
Hey VFW....if you AREN’T Black or UNION THUGS, he doesn’t have time for you!! GOLF is so much more important.

I would suggest Hillary.
That should piss him off.
My very first freep was when Bill Clinton addressed the VFW’s 100th anniversary convention, held in Kansas City in 1999. The first of numerous times my German Shepherd Max got to meet the Secret Service agents. Seems like good times compared with now.
Funny thing, many veterans turned their back when Kerry spoke. Serves F’n Kerry right !
If the VFW seriously want the ONE there, they should have had their gathering on a golf course.
There will be somebody there in 2012, probably Obama.
And he'll wear a VFW Member's Cap which will say "President of the United States".
Barack Obama doesn’t care about veterans.
Jimmy Carter could, and so could Bill Clinton. But Barack Obama won’t. Figures, he’s a very small minded politician.
Obama didn’t want to talk about taking care of a bunch of sick animals.
Next year (election year) Obama will be there with bells on his toes.
One reason, I think they didn’t allow anyone of importance to speak this year is that he is pissed with the initial criticism by the VFW of his plans to cut veteran’s benefits. He is thin skinned.
He doesn't want to dirty his delicate hands so he has corpse men do it.
