After the worst riots for a generation, and as thousands of extra police are drafted in for this weekend’s Notting Hill Carnival, the ‘gangsta’ culture seems to have permeated even the higher echelons of society.
For beautiful heiress Willa Keswick, 27, whose family are worth £1.7 billion thanks to their stake in Hong Kong conglomerate Jardine Matheson, is now sporting a large tattoo of a red and black handgun stretching from her armpit down the side of her torso.
While no one could accuse Willa of advocating civil disorder, her new tattoo nevertheless echoes the controversial ‘copycat’ criticisms made by historian David Starkey.
Certainly, her body art is unlikely to receive the parental seal of approval; Willa’s Old Etonian father is Jardine director Simon Keswick, 69, a former trustee of the British Museum, and her aunt, Tessa, married to Simon’s older brother Sir Henry Keswick, is chairman of the leading Tory think-tank, The Centre for Policy Studies.
Willa, who sank money into a failed West End club, the eponymous Willa’s, went on to open a fashion boutique in Notting Hill, tastelessly called The Village Bicycle.
Last month, not long after the shop’s opening, she took herself off to Mexico, where she spent many painful hours having the gun tattooed by ‘master’ skin artist Olma Hinojosa at the beach resort of Tulum.

My wife and I have a beautiful daughter who is now in her early forties. A few years ago she saw fit to say to her mother and me, "Thank you for not allowing me to do all the stupid things that I wanted to do." We really felt good in knowing that those trials and tribulations that we endured were, after all, not in vain.
